UI Bloat: We really need the ability to favorite armor outfit styles like we can other cosmetics.

After coming back to the game about a month ago I was pleasantly surprised to see that you can now favorite all cosmetics under Appearance, making it easier for us to find the cosmetics we actually like in a list of potentially a hundred or more. I also missed out on about 40 motifs, and the time it took me to go through all of them made me realize just how badly this feature is needed for the outfit system.

Now that we're up to Crafting Motif 123, there are nearly 3200 individual pieces of armor to choose from (or over 4000 if you count both robes and tunics), and this does not include the hundreds of other crown store weapons, quest/achievement pieces, and signature pieces. It has become more and more difficult to keep track of everything, and going to the outfit station has become a bigger and bigger timesink as more motifs are added.

I realize that anyone could make a written list or type one up on their PC, but what I think the game actually needs is the ability to see armor pieces that have been selected as a favorite at the top of the actual interface, like we now have with appearance cosmetics such as face/body markings. With this feature we could quickly go through pieces we've favorited, rather than at best looking through a list we've made and typing it in the search box. I also suspect that the whole process of going through motifs is even more painful for console players using a controller to navigate the interface.

Unless the system added individual favourite lists for each character (or perhaps for activities eg stealth, tank, dps, heals), then I am not sure how useful it would be for me.

Since the current favouriting system is account wide it makes no sense for me to use it on 20 diverse characters that all have different "favourites" that suit their colourways or aesthetic, so I make no use of it as it doesn't help.

So while I agree some kind of organisation system of armours would be amazing, I'm not sure the limitations of the game engine, or the philosophy of ZOS at the moment would make such a system useful enough for me to use :P

Edit: doh! I totally missread the OP .. while my thoughts on my imaginary thread remain, yeah I agree that some extra organisation of motif's and styles would be totally appreciated :pensive:

Would absolutely love this for styles.

Heck, I'd settle for being able to navigate the styles without having to click - let me use my arrow keys!

How would you use such a feature? Are there styles besides the basic that you regularly craft? It is a pain to find particular style materials — so glad I can check Quest Only when doing master writs for this reason! Or do you regularly change your character(s)’ outfit(s) between the same styles? When I update an outfit, I often have a particular new style or motif in mind that I haven’t used before, or I may have a look/feel that I’m going for and I’ll probably preview most of the styles I have unlocked as well as many I don’t to find what I like best.

Personally I like to look through them regularly, and I change my outfit fairly often, since the way my character looks is important to me. It isn't so much that I forget which particular styles I like in terms of things like chest pieces (although now that there's well over 100, it is getting a little hard to remember everything), it's more that the pieces that fit well with them (which is almost never pieces from the same motif) are hard to keep track of. Gloves, boots, and legs can be especially hard to remember since some can be pretty similar, but with minor differences that may or may not work with a certain chest piece, depending on the texture, whether there is clipping/overlapping, how they dye, etc. Being able to favorite 10-15 or so of each would really help reduce the time it takes to pick out new outfits.
