How does Necro still not have Major Sorcery/Brutality?

It's a buff that literally every build requires. Every other class has access to it. Do something about it ZOS.

    If everyone has access to Major Sorcery/Brutality via class skills, who's going to use skills like Degeneration, Momentum, Venom Arrow?

    They were locked out of it when they had a unique 25% damage buff. You had to get a skill line and 1 slot from outside the class. It was kind of a balance. Now, it's got nothing unique except for some circus tricks and bombs.

    Everyone obsessed with this buff like this alone is going to do anything for necro. I get this buff from other places and necro is still garbage. Sure it could make room on my bar but for what? Abilities that are slow, bugged, and are just overall very underwhelming? Hard pass.

    Necro needs, basically, an overhaul of its offensive abilities… maybe even the corpse system. I don’t care about this buff until that happens.

    PC NA (Tank/DPS) - [PVE]
    Started ESO - Oct 2020

    Necro Main
    Tank main from 300cp - 1200cp at which point I switched to DPS - I was 100k on every class except werewolf. I cleared 115k on necro, but I am completely done with parsing. My hands won't let me anymore. Lucky there is still heavy attack and arcanist options available. Otherwise I would possibly have to give up eso entirely.

    While that is very true, ZOS has only nerfed Necro since it hit live and pretty much refuses to change any skills that we’ve let them know were poo… I just don’t think this buff would help. For the record I will say that skulls has always been slow and clunky, BB and Skeletal have always been buggy, tether has always been unreliable and no changes since 2019.

    At this point, honestly, I’d say ZOS just delete this class from the game. You’re not paying attention to it and it’s dead. For me? Nothing short of making the offensive abilities useful and actually have them working will bring my Magcro out of retirement.

    I would also love to bring my Magcro out of retirement, I made this class my main when it hit live because I saw the potential and figured it would be fixed and adjusted.

    There’s just no reason not to add buffs to skills when the Arcanist gets 3 to 4 major buffs just casting 2 skills.

    It's a dead class, very fitting for a necromancer I guess

    But adding it wouldn't hurt either. Arguing against adding it is just silly.

    I mean I guess. I just don’t see anyone logging onto their necro because they got this, I know I wouldn’t. I guess agree to disagree because I can see ZOS putting that on Skeletal summons expecting people to be happy but I would just react: “Still a **** ability, not going on my bar.”

    It's an easy thing they could knock out in an afternoon. An overhaul is several months of work at least. Giving necros a reason to slot class abilities is a good thing.

    Does it though? I have access to those buffs now and it doesn’t make my BB or skeletal summons pet not be dumb. I get that an overhaul is going to take too long, necro has only been crap since 2020-2021 but okay… I understand that and agree.

    So I will say this, I am not saying Necros shouldn’t get the buff… I am saying it better not be the only change. Fix/adjust like two abilities… make BB more reliable somehow and buff up the self synergy damage. Maybe even get rid of the cooldown on that new necro class set so we can keep it up. That would be fine until other adjustments happen for sure.

    But giving necro brutality and sorcery only… it doesn’t change the offensive abilities or the damage you output. Maybe I’m insane but I just don’t see how giving that buff alone changes anything. I almost see it as a slap in the face because I have that buff and the class is poo… idk.

    I’ve also really enjoyed the back and forth here, it’s been fun.

    It would be small but it would make a difference. I use spell power pots on my necro and while I enjoy saving gold the build would be much better with tripots. The changes I would need to make to slot degen/cammo hunter are not worth it to me. It would be nice if those buffs were attached to the class abilities I'm already using. Skeletal mage is a good candidate for maj sorcery. One of the tethers would be good for prophecy. Would also be nice to add evasion to the totem.
