Selling Companion Gear

I am sure I must just be missing something, but I couldn't find an answer online nor in the forums.

If I find companion gear in the wild I am able to sell it in the guild trader, no problem. But if I buy something at a guild trader and then later want to sell it, it doesn't come up in the list of sell-able items in my inventory. Why is that? Is there a time limit before you are allowed to re-sell items? I am not trying to profit, just changed my mind about how I wanted to gear up my companion(s) so I wanted to sell the gear I no longer want to use.

    Once you equip the item to a companion it becomes bound. So you can resell, but you have to do it before putting it on a companion.

    Thank you, jaws343. Seems I have learned an expensive lesson. I have only been playing about six months, so I still have a lot to learn.

    One thing to remember: You can shuffle around the gear between your companions.
    So another companion might like it :)
