PTS - Plentiful Harvest Testing at 50%

With the patch notes saying that a bug was fixed with plentiful harvest, although only the 10% star was mentioned.

I still wanted to test if perhaps this also fixed the persistent bug where max level on plentiful harvest was only giving ~40% doubled chance, rather than the 50% the tooltip states.

The test:

I collected 100 surveys on the PTS that I had stored on my PTS character copies from live. 10 of them were blacksmithing, 51 were woodworking, and 39 were clothing. Various zones. I collected in Vvardenfell, Bangkorai, Rivenspire, and Eastmarch.

The data:

600 total nodes were collected.

Of these, 297 of them were doubled.

This is a 49.5% doubling rate.

To check if this was statistically significant, I used a binomial distribution test in Google Sheets to check the percentile rank of getting that doubling rate, given a certain percentage.

At the old estimated 40% drop rate, it was at nearly 100% (99.9998964%), meaning we can virtually guarantee that the doubling rate is NOT 40%, as we were well above 4 standard deviations above the expected amount.

The conclusion:

The bug fix in plentiful harvest has definitively adjusted the drop rate when slotting plentiful harvest at the maximum value of 50%. It has most likely been "fixed" and is dropping at the expected rate of 50% now.

    The entire node wasn't broken in the first place, it's just that the first one didn't grant any bonuses (they all stack) and it got fixed

    In my bug reports thread about Plentiful Harvest underperforming, another player tested it at 20% and got about a 20% drop rate... so something really weird must have been going on.

    Good to know this has finally been fixed. This has been bugged (for whatever reason) since they redid champion points way back when. I had just accepted the fact that Plentiful Harvest wasn't working correctly and thought we'd have to live with around a 40% drop rate forever.

    The entire node was proven to be bugged repeatedly. There have been numerous threads on this issue since this star was introduced in January of 2021. It’s been granting 10% less than it should at each stage the entire time. 40% at max stages.

    There are others, but you can see there it was bugged from the beginning at every stage.

    ETA: If the argument is that the other stages were working properly, then they were not. When the tooltip says it grants 50% but the effect is only 40%, that is bugged. No stage granted what its tooltip said; in other words, no stage was working as promised or intended. That is the definition of bugged. It doesn’t matter mechanically that each subsequent stage was successfully adding the 10% if the final result is still not what it should be. Since there is no way for us to know how things are programmed internally, the patch notes need to be clear that the issue has been resolved at all stages as a result of the fix.
