The Endless Archive is genuinely awesome looking. Unique, replayable, difficult - I was really excited for this.
The group finder (despite not enabling 12-man BG lobbies) is also a great addition! Allowing PUGs to finally queue for Trials is fantastic.
Jewelry Crafting? Also a good change. Mats were too expensive.
The above changes had me really excited for the patch, but the baffling lack of balance changes to address what is one of the least fun metas in years ruins that. Not only was the overuse of the typical "DoT Proc" setup not addressed, but the already strongest class by far was given another buff, in addition to one of the most head-scratchingly overpowered sets ever designed (Basalt). What's going on? I get that last patch was supposed to be light on balance changes, but that should've given ample time to collect feedback and data on the numerous pain points in the current meta.
Classes like Templar and Necro feel horrendous to play right now outside of very specific niche setups. Why weren't either touched or even aknowledged to be underperforming?
I understand that there was a lot of pushback on massive pendulum balance swings every patch up to U35, but the opposite of that is just as bad. It's utterly shocking that there are so many long-standing pain points of the meta that weren't acknowledged, tweaked, addressed, or balanced in any way.
