By Azura! ESO takes half my disk space

I am looking to make space for Starfield so it looks like its goodbye to the PTS since its basically a second installation of ESO.

that must be one insanely small HD if ESO takes up half of it, even assuming both the game and PTS installed that is less than 200 GB (its ~95 GB on disk) lol

I get it. Standard HD space on prebuilt rigs is around 500 GB. I've got a secondary drive that's 2TB which is what I run most of my installs to. I bought this system in '21, so I'm guessing that hasn't changed too much.

i have a laptop from like 5 years ago that has like a 250 GB SSD which is what the OS is on but it came with a 1 TB drive (though its slow as hell)

im probably spoiled from my massive storage on my desktop (my current desktop has 10 TB of storage space)

This is ESO folder installed through Steam.
Depot folder is the meshes + textures folder, around 80 GB.
You need only 1 VO that matches your preferred language.
Other folders can be moved to a different drive and linked using directory junctions (in windows console):

mklink /j "link location" "folder location"

I had to move to Xbox because my ESO crashed on my PC and just kept trying to repair so I decided to uninstall it and reinstall. Unfortunately I can't reinstall it as it just says I don't have enough disc space. Even if I managed to install it I read it takes 13% of the hard disk empty to run once it's installed too and I don't have that much available space.

Xbox is good though.

My computer is from 2017, I saved money on the SSD which at the time was very expensive to get a better graphics card.

I was using a computer from 2007 before that (and it still ran ESO), so I had no idea just how huge modern games had become. Since I was limping along with an old computer I wasn't playing AAA games anyway.

My SSD is 500 Gb, ESO is using half of my currently used SSD space, ESO is 115 gb and the PTS is 90 Gb. . StarField is 135 Gb so I need more space than that.

yeah the avg size of most modern games is between 80 and 160 GB in size (red dead redemption 2 is ~150 gb for example)

ive heard even worse from like call of duty, i think one of them was close to 250 GB

i personally would not even recommend buying anything under 1 TB for storage unless your using it as your OS drive

I use syslinks on Linux for this! I didn't know windows had linking like that, good to know. I'll deff recommend to my friends!

Edit: With the syslink I actually linked the whole PTS folder so that might be possible on windows:

You don't even need to move it to another drive if you don't use the files, you can just delete them and save the space on your drives overall
