Repairing your own armor?

I find the kits only repairing one piece of armour at a time a huge disincentive to use them. It feels antiquated and deliberately time-wasting.
It's not very intuitive either; it took me so long to work out how to actually use the crates that the first ones I'd been given were practically useless! I'd like to see the whole system overhauled into something far more user-friendly.
e.g. Repair kits repair everything you are wearing and it's as simple as click the kit in your inventory and repair.

They might want to adjust the prices a little but I do wonder how many people are engaging with the system we have now. I have never bought a repair kit and I probably never will, it's just so easy to get the merchant to do it compared to using a kit.

I definitely support having the ability to repair our own gear as a perk for master crafters.

@evan302 what's so difficult about using repair kits? you hover over an item an press "f". same as recharging weapon enchantments.

Nothing difficult about it, it's just boring and unnecessarily convoluted in my opinion.

All my characters keep a full stack of repair kits on them just in case but I rarely ever use them. Any time I interact with a merchant the first thing I do is repair my gear. Any excess kits my characters get over a stack are put into the bank and once my bank goes over a stack I sell a stack on the trader.

I imagine they're probably pretty useful for trial groups, especially prog groups and things of that nature, but most of my heavy combat type gameplay is done on the PvP side where gear doesn't deteriorate the same way. When I am in PvE I'm usually just questing or doing dailies or maybe a couple dungeons if I still need to collect any sets that drop in the day's pledges. So I'm never too far from a merchant.

The only time I do get some mileage from the kits is in the solo arenas. I'm on console so no add on to automate the process but doing it one piece at a time doesn't really bother me since it comes up so infrequently. Still I'm thankful to have them on me when it does come up.
