Apparently fixed and easier to obtain, but I've done maybe 35-40 maps since the update and got one lead. The only difference now is that I'm not getting mushroom books either (That is not a complaint 
)
Has anyone noticed an improvement in the lead drop?

Sirona_Starr✭✭✭✭✭Are you buying all those maps? I have only ever had 2 Apocrypha maps drop and I have been intentionally farming them. Neither dropped any kind of lead, although 9 different leads could potentially drop. I wish they's stop the rng on top of rng leads altogether re maps.3 -

✭✭✭I have yet to see a Telvanni Peninsula or Apocrypha treasure map drop.
And I'll be derned to heck if I'm gonna pay millions, or even any multiple of hundreds of thousands for a teeny, teeny, tiny chance of getting one of the leads.2 -

✭✭Personally I will never invest time and effort in anything that requires a lead from a treasure map chest. I just don't think any of the items are worth that much time, or gold.
And to the Telvani maps, so far I have had 2 drop. I sold both.

Can you confirm that the bug has been fixed with update39?
I found the three leads before update 39, but the second and third codex don't come out after update 39. I also opened a ticket to report that the leads don't drop like they should after update 391 -

✭✭I think it's a shame that ZOS seems to be trending more towards the "lead from treasure map chests". It's a serious resource drain for players. Personally, I don't think anything is worth that but YMMV...

the drop rate on leads from treasure maps is far far too low in general
only like a ~10% chance to get a lead is abyssmal, especially since treasure maps dont stack eitherplays PC/NA

✭✭I've been sitting on maps on Xbox/NA waiting for the update, but that was a huge waste of time. Almost 18 maps burned and no Apocryphal Well leads. Not sure why I keep finding myself baffled when ZOS adds new things to the game, where it feels like they really don't want us to be able to obtain said things. I've spent over 6 million gold on maps trying to complete my codex for the Deadlands, and I'm just not willing to do the same thing for Necrom. Hard pass. I'd rather go play something else.3 -

Yeah, I burned another 6 maps today and didn't get any leads, much less the last lead that I need for the well. I have 7-8 more maps but don't care to dig them up and just continue to be disappointed. The RNG in ESO is absolute rubbish.

✭I found one lead from a map that came with the pre-order. Haven't found another lead since the release so I went out of my way and spend 400.000 gold, which is not exactly a small amoutn of gold to me, on treasure maps. I bougth 10 maps for the telvanni-peninsula and not a single one of them dropped a lead at all.
I used each map on a different character too, in case that's of interest to any people discussing lead drop timers.
The drop chance is abysmal low. Fun is spelled differently.4 -

It's been a year since Necrom released and I still haven't been able to get 2nd leads of either. Basically gave up after seeing that it took others 30-40 million gold+ (PC NA) to get the well; I only buy maps rarely if I happen to spot one "on sale".0
