This is something stupid and I'm not sure why I'm posting this. I know general discussion is the place to post that kind of stuff so why not.

I sometimes can't come up with titles for my discussions on the forums. This is not exclusive to the ESO ones, it's any online gaming forum I've been on in my life. I can write the main paragraphs, format my post, and post it on the forums, but I can't come up with a title. I even do this when writing short stories and comics in real life.

Here are the filler titles of my discussions for when I can't come up with a title:
1. Forum post
2. Something about (game)
3. Bored and posted this
4. What is this
5. Question
6. Poll about the game
7. Forum post about

On previous online forums I've been on such as all the blizzard entertainment game forums, this happened many years ago, I got a thousand year "account action" on Blizzard Entertainment forums because of this. Thank gosh I'm still ok on the eso forums.

How do I do it?

Write the post first then pick a key word or phrase from it and use that as the title.

For this one you could have used "I sometimes can't come up with titles for my discussions". That's your introductory sentence - the part where you tell everyone what the post is about, so use that as the title.

To add to what Danikat said, maybe try to formulate the topics as if asking a person.
Instead of "Forum Post" maybe something like "How to find a good title for my posts?"

Or instead of "Question", try to at least add the topic. Like "Question for the vet healers" or "Would you rather have a good heal or a tank?"
Instead of just "What is this" maybe try to at least specify a tiny bit, "What is this thing I saw in Vardenfell" or something like that.

Posts without any information about what's in them always feel kinda click-baity to me, and makes me not want to interact with them.
Not saying that the stuff you post is click-bait, it's many threads I see from many different people, but I'd really prefer having some rough idea about the topic.

I clicked on this because I saw your name as the author and to be totally honest after reading some of your recent contributions immediately thought "Ooo what's he/she up to now?"

Not sure if that could be viewed as a good or a bad thing but it made me click! 💕

Post titles don't need to be amazing. They just need to tell people a brief idea of the overall point of your thread. A summary sentence, so to speak.

The generic titles you showed are too vague. But it you modified them to include just a little detail from your posts, would work perfectly well.

    Post reply.

My snarkiness aside I'd say any of your filler titles can work tbh.
Just try to read over your content and look for one theme or subject, like "combat" "Crafting" "NPCs" etc.

Only rule I've ever worried about is just don't use click bait or misleading thread titles like "Regarding the Necrom Story" but then your post quickly turns into a "Why I can't stand quest NPCs mobbing me."
Or "Some thoughts about the new companions" and then the thread content is "WATCH MAH VIDEO CLICK HERE!!!111"

Those justifiably can bring angry villagers with pitchforks and torches.

    Edit: can't word today.

I much prefer a subject that actually tells what the thread is about. Subjects such as "What is going on here?" don't catch my interest nearly as much as one that describes what is being discussed.
