Dual wielding buff concept..

Changes id make to dual wielding passives to make it feel stronger...

Slaughter: Increases damage done by 10% for a while after getting a kill
Dual wield Expert: increase the damage with dual wield skills by 10%
the daggers portion of the Twin blade and blunt passive gets buffed to add more crit chance
buff hidden and flying blades' damage to make it a better option for direct damage builds

The reason i propose this is because it seems that the skills for Dual wielding are nigh unusable for me in most situations so i figured the passives should be able to carry them more.. i meant obviously there are those who get use out of them but i feel it is typically better for stam users to use two-handed which kind of feels like a problem... It would be cool if they added more effects to dual wielding like idk landing muliple direct damage strikes on an unblocking with light attacks an weapon skills enemy will gaurantee a buffed attack for whatever attack you use next or (dual wield or other) something so players would have to defend against dual wielders slightly differently by throwing a block more often to deny them that effect..

Thing is in PVE dual wield is the strongest option so buffing it further would only push them further ahead vs other weapon types

DW is currently the strongest option in both PvE and PvP for damage. It certainly doesn't need any buffs, and is getting (slightly) nerfed in the next patch to close that gap.

thanks for clarifying, I'm not a PVPer so couldn't comment on that side :)

OP, I'd also urge you to look at the DW skills again - they're among the strongest weapon skills. While Flurry and Shrouded Daggers might feel a little underwhelming, the ultimate, Rending Slashes, Blade Cloak, and Spin2Win are all top tier abilities.

If Dual Wield wasn't already the strongest weapon type, I'd really want to see a way for them to add "offhand attacks" either by making bash perform a light attack or by reducing the light attack cool down so you can fit two into a gcd.

So that this game can be even more input intensive than the dexterity hell it already is.

Yeah i mean endgame raiders, myself included all have dw builds. Its pretty much mandatory to have it in your kit along with a ranged build. It definitely does not need a buff. Thats like saying cleave needs a buff lol. They do need to fix it though. Its been bugged for a while and doesnt tick properly...

    ^^ agree 100%

Masters DW specifically needs a significant adjustment. In pvp, it’s absolutely stupid how many meta humpers are using Masters DW/Vatesh.

I mean, Dual Wield is the strongest option for most builds in PVE. But people only really use two skills most of the time: Deadly Cloak, and sometimes Rending Slashes. Passives don't need a buff. If anything, the damaging skills could use a buff sans Deadly Cloak. For example, adding a minor bleed DOT to Bloodthirst and increasing it and Rapid Strikes damage slightly, buffing Whirlwind and its morphs a bit though I'm unsure by how much since it's still used in some niche builds despite the nerfs a while back, and giving hidden blade a damage buff and making one of its buff do bleed damage with an associated small DOT tacked on (Zos has been removing a ton of Bleed support lately).

But then you could argue some of the same treatment should happen to 2-handed, or bow, or idek some templar skill lines or warden skill lines. There are a ton of undertuned skills in the game I'd love to see be as good as the best skills in the game, just so we can get more diverse options when we make builds. Zos should make a point system when making a skill. A skill needs to have 20 points. Is the skill a spammable or a DOT? That's a couple points. How much damage does it do? More points based on damage. Does it inflict a status effect or give you a buff? That's some points. Basically just an internal calculation so everything balances correctly, cause as it stands, there's a lot of skills but few options for the most part.

This is actually especially true on mag characters which makes no sense.

Just want to use this as a chance to voice my hatred for the hybridization system. Mag characters need to use melee weapons and mainly stam armor to maximize their DPS. Makes absolutely no sense to me IMO. Everyone is running around with roughly the same 5-8 sets and it has really made the game bland IMO.

I really much preferred having to specialize in mag OR stam, as all of my characters/alts had a different flavor when I played them. Now they're basically all the same.

And I'm not alone. I haven't encountered one person in the actual game who actually likes the hybridization. Wish they would roll it back.

Don't sell Flurry short. It's among the hardest hitting single target spammables in game. And the passives even give it a quasi execute, too. The Bloodthirst morph can carry you through any Solo Boss fight.

Its just that the animation is "unwieldy" ... 🤣

... get it? ... unwieldy? ... Dual Wield?

    🤦‍♂️
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.
