Lightning staff Suggestions

Most people think the change to Tri Focus isn't really necessary because of its short radius. What most people I talked to told me is they would like the heavy attack to be interruptible. Heavy attacks are easy to counter for wardens and templars or anyone who runs a cleanse in some form or another. Not everyone has one. Leave staff as it was and reduce Tri Focus damage to 25%/50%.

Another suggestion this one for the recent changes; is to increase the radius of the last tic to mele range so that it actually hits something or shorten the heavy attack duration so that you lose 1 damage tic. Its a channel and you cant be doing anything else during that time and if you dont complete the heavy attack then for AOE damage its useless in many situations; making it not viable anymore regardless of the changes to ancient knowledge.
I feel this change will make ESO lose casual players more then anything else.

My suggestion is to leave it like it is. It caused no damage. No one complained at it. It affected no ones gameplay. Just back off and leave it alone. If they want to bump up the fire staff itself I'm good but leave lightning alone. Buffs before Nerfs.

I belive it just needs a bit rework. Leaving it be as AoE near target is too op
    HA is lightning beam, right?
Let it do damage to anyone between caster and target, like it works with Zaan, Wrath of Elements, necro's Siphon, etc.

Why is it OP? It's been this way from the start. Why change it now considering it damages HA builds when doing solo content? What makes it so OP that ZOS needs to change it after all these years?

Yes, it's always been this way from the start. What hasn't always been so from the start is how good Empower is now. Empower is almost twice as good as its ever been. Therefore, Tri Focus is now too strong.

Not only was Empower much less powerful, achieving anything close to 100% uptime required using an Empower-granting spammable like Scalding Rune, which gave 5s Empower each cast.

    Let's look at sets too:

Originally Noble Duelist's Silks proc'd from dodging attacks and gave a percentage bonus. The next iteration proc'd from a light/heavy attack in melee range with a flat bonus of just over half what it is now, with an uptime that matched its cooldown. The current iteration is the most powerful for lightning HA builds

Sergeant's Mail originally only impacted fully-charged HAs with a % bonus, then that became a flat damage bonus, and finally a ramping damage bonus that's currently around 200 flat dmg high than the previous iteration at full stacks. The current iteration is the most powerful for lightning HA builds.

Storm Master used to cause light attacks to deal extra shock damage, then light & HAs. This did not scale in the same way as it does currently. The 10s cd/20s uptime iteration directly preceding the current one was the most powerful for lightning HA builds, though the current one is still very good.

Infiltrator & Unweaver used to add around 1100 flat damage, before rising to 1700 or so in 2020, and currently sit at 1645 - and thanks to hybridisation you're no longer sacrificing damage from using an opposing resource skill, or required to sacrifice most of your set-piece bonuses by running Infiltrator on a mag build, or Unweaver on a stam build.

"It's been this way from the start" glosses over a tonne of nuance in the journey of HA builds from where they started, to where they are now. All of that factors into the discussion.

It actually used to do 4 ticks :) the change to 3 ticks was pretty hard hitting to HA builds, but weighed against the empower change it wasn't so bad.

Still, I don't mind the change. It's going to hit PvE a bit hard for AoE, then something will get buffed to compensate at some time which will probably be interesting

DK's old version of Molten Armaments gave a unique 50% buff to heavies as well. So 90% total with old empower.
