Is Storm Atronach's zap counted as channeled or not?

I mean, does storm atro (single-target morph) get buff from storm staff?
I know that zap is over-time damage type ability, but Atronach is channeling that lightning beam to target as well (like templar's beam), so I hope it can get buff from both storm and inferno, but I can't test it myself (not enough disk space for PTS client)

Ok, i deleted the original game and downloaded PTS client.
It buffs, atro is counted as channeled skill, and it also deals more inital damage with storm staff due to direct damage buff then with inferno and thats great! Sounds like decent game design

I am also very curious. And considering that some sets effects cannot be triggered by pets (I remember I read a comment saying that Storm-Cursed's Revenge cannot be triggered by pets' normal attacks). I'm worried that storm atro won't benefit from this staff change.

I seem to recall that pets inherit player stats but cannot trigger proc effects. So your familiar will inherit your crit chance, but the crits of their basic attacks will not proc Critical Surge healing. I am guessing that they should inherit the Ancient Knowledge passive from you, but I can't say that with certainty.

You should be able to check if there's a tooltip change on the PTS by comparing lightning vs. ice staff.
