The game was much messier back in 2014, and gold sellers and bots were rampant, but someone managed to find fault at the proportion of female quest givers or women in positions of power. I felt sorry for the poor mod who was overseeing that thread, especially because it was a woman.
Those braincells I lost, I'm never getting them back.
Now Hollywood had an period with very bad female lead moves last decade who destroyed brands like Star Wars.Carcamongus wrote: »Yes, I know, I know, you folks warned me, but my curiosity was hard to resist. Well, that thread isn't a "lonely example". Since Elsweyr there have been various threads upset at the proportion of "princesses" and fremale NPCs - IIRC, it got especially bad during Greymoor.
It's not exactly an unusual take....

What's especially annoying about that Greymoor take was that the main quest had a pretty even amount of men and women. On top of that, each of the "princesses" were very different but people acted like it was the same because it involved female royalty.

In Oblivion The very first voice you hear and the first casualty is Captain Renault, leader of the Emperors Protection detail and member of the Blades

Gotta nitpick here, the first voice you actually hear in Oblivion after you've made your character is Valen Dreth taunting the ever loving *** out of you based on your own race and gender.
But no one cares about Valen Dreth so it might as well be Renault.
