Lightning staff final tick needs to remain direct damage

To maintain the feel and the whole essence of a heavy attack from a lightning staff the final tick should be direct damage. For it to be a channel through its entire duration makes absolutely no sense.
When I think of a lightning heavy attack I think of a lightning strike. You can feel it and see it building up to its crescendo
))))SNAP-BOOM(((((((
Channel damage even to the final tick will feel more like grabbing hold of a power line instead of a lightning strike.
This new design or plan for the lightning staff in my opinion has to be one of the worst decisions (if it goes through) that ZOS could do this update.

PLEASE ZOS do not implement these changes feel free to change the power bonuses and the side effects but not the channel and final tick of the lightning staff.

If you want more people to use flame staff then fix it but don't destroy something that's working perfectly fine like the lightning staff please. I would like to see flame's staff have a bonus damage to overtime abilities. When you think of flames you think of burning slowly lightning you think of whip.

I asked you for the over 30 different golden out lightning staffs I have in my inventory from pvp to pve rethink this. I don't want to burn my enemies with my extension cord I want to whip them to death with my lightning strikes.
And this is not about any heavy attack build it's purely the aesthetics of my builds and my role playing that I and a lot of my guilds enjoy.
A lot of players do not post on these forums but the word on the streets of ESO is that this will not feel right or be a good change. Love you guys have fun with life play ESO more often.

As you talk explicitly about aesthetics: Are you concerned about changed animations? Don't worry then, they stay the same.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

Nothing changes except the final tick should now be buffed by Thaumaturge (but not Master-at-Arms) & the deadly strike 5-piece bonus. It should still constitute circa 55% of the total damage of the 3-tick channel - i.e. it will be a much larger damage tick than the previous 2 - so you'll still get that big pop.

    Why not both?
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

They should revert it by changing back to dealing aoe dmg in ticks or give the last boom like a satisfactory BOOM. Not this wet noodle slap you see. It's hardly visible even the AoE portion rofl.

They could allow the AoE to crit, or increase the splash to around 130-150% of base instead of 100%.

@ZOS it's not to late to reverse your decision on going through with this change to lightning staff. All you have to say is we decided that the new changes to the lightning staff do not meet our expectations and we are going back to the drawing board to evaluate data.
It doesn't feel the same and it will destroy the history of what I and others have grown to expect
