ZOS let us grow resources at player houses

    This is a great idea, but only if well executed.

    Maybe the mats you gather from your house should be bound to your account? I already imagine bot farms hidden behind housing.

    Also maybe the seeds for some rare plants could be obtained via some special activities (like lead drops today). If you already had a plant it would have a small chance to produce another seed, that you would plant in your house. Imagine a seed that drops as rare as cipher and allows you to make potions with some small adjustment in stats.

    Well an entire new game system. Could be fun, but also meh or painful grind.

    Now this is something I could get behind. I actually enjoyed the farming thing in MoP.. And as long as the mats were bound that would solve some issues....

    I'd only want this if ZOS adds the server resources needed to implement this.

    Dungeon with funny monsters - check
    Gathering all around - check
    Oldman who will check how you're doing - check
    Memorable festivals - check
    Exciting and vibrant fishing - check
    Planting your own crops - the only thing missed.

    I like this idea but I hate to check my farm less than 24h every day, maybe its time to give some work to my houseguests.

    I don’t think they want houses to turn into WoW-esque garrisons, where players never have to leave them.

    And tbh of my 60+ houses I don’t want to suddenly leave spaces for a farm in each of them or feel that I am not using the house efficiently if one wasn’t there.

    I would like my house to be on top of a gold mine.

    Yes please. I support the OP's idea.

    We have control over resource inflation as we can all harvest. If resources cost more than a player wants to pay they have the option to harvest what they want themselves and avoid the cost.

    I am not against having harvesting nodes in our homes but am merely pointing out the fact of how prices are set and the options we have. If Zenimax were to add such a feature it would need to be extremely limited as it is in games like GW2 and SWTOR which would not tile the market much.

    The farm is good idea, it's interesting and fun. Let houses not only spend money on themselves, but also make a profit. One request, please no Crown Store farm items or eso+ benefits.

    What about a Homestead 2.0?

    - You can craft fancy beds and sleep in them. Sleeping well will reward more enlightenment points. Better beds reward more. Inns reward a little (for beginners);
    - You can plant crops, set traps and fertilize soils to "grow" materials;
    - Your alts can visit your home. They don't have dialogues though, because, well, it would be too complicated;
    - You can put up mannequins/armour stands with your favourite armour/costume. And also display glasses for your weapons and jewelry!
    Advocating for crown crates to return to the store of adult Brazilians.

    I am an adult, I want to spend the money I earn on crown crates.

    ZOS can comply with Brazil's legislation and still sell crown crates to adults.

    This was initially announced as a planned upcoming feature when housing debuted, but it never came to be, for whatever reason.

    We should also have fishing holes at some houses. It would be great to be able to sit on the deck looking at the beautiful view while fishing.

    Or just allow Surveys to be traded in for Player Housing plot harvests or some such.
    Also allow for the respawning of various mats that you'd otherwise have to grab in the world inside every crate, urn, and table, such as Carrots, Garlic, etc...

    As for those who would say: "But it ruins social aspect."
    Uhh... whenever I do surveys, I blitz from one to the next. I don't stop to /wave to the mortals while I wince in the sun due to my immortal vampiric flesh. No, I just go from survey to survey to survey. If what people call "Social aspect" is just the visual presence of other players running back and forth to other locations without so much as saying a single word to each other, then uhh... I guess?

    Anyhoo, great idea.
    It would gain more traction if:
    1. Houses could have far more people in them, 24+ per house regardless of size
    2. Houses could be "browsed" for visibility, showing current populations and player-set descriptions.

    But eh, that's a whole other development project that they'd likely have to charge thousands of crowns for to make up in lost revenue from wages, thus it would be far too niche.

    Would still be nice though.

    There sure is a lot of interest for this, but I don’t get it. I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade, just please make this optional content.

    I’d rather harvest mats outside like I’m doing now than have to visit my houses on a timetable.

    I would like more furnishing plants to create a garden just for looks, though.

    Good idea!

    It would make housing more than just a museum and storage lol.

    Maybe a patch of dirt that spawns different things or maybe one for clothing materials, another for alchemy ingredients, etc. On a daily cooldown. World of Warcraft had a similar thing with garrisons - there's a lot of good ideas there that could be used. A fishing hole would also be nice.

    I suggest a cooldown because I guess ZOS would be hesitant otherwise because it might make places emptier? Same reason why they haven't given us the ability to purchase daily crafting writ boards (there'd be less people in the cities). Or mount trainers.

    I'm still waiting for a bard and some dancers for my House of Earthly Delights. :p

    I agree with the patch of land, or even if your houses that had outdoor space, randomly spawned nodes, it would definitely make housing more worthwhile for those who don't want houses as they don't ljke decorating - more reason to buy all the houses thus making ZoS more money 😂

    I remember SWtOR had harvestable potted plants you could put in your houses. And they were incredibly limited, for balance purposes.

    I seriously doubt you'd get the "I can farm all the stuff I need!" that you're imagining. Nowhere remotely enough to bring the economy back down.

    No thanks. There is already way, way to much emphasis on housing. ESO should focus on the combat and actual game play. (unless they want to add the massive server resources required to support all this stuff, which seems highly unlikely)

    Resource inflation rate ingame is absolutely out of hand, materials double their prices every year and I see absolutely no reason why we can't grow some resources at houses.

    With the all in one crafting table there will be a lot of empty spaces at houses and you can only decorate too much with the furniture rate. Why can't we just grow alchemy mats and trees that we can harvest once every couple day or once a day. Hireling passives are nice but they are ineffective by themselves. It would benefit everybody to just be able to grow whatever resource they prefer compared to random sets of tiny amoutns of resources once a day.

    Agreed.
