Maarselok monster set needs serious adjustment

This set is doing way too much damage. This is in No-CP with 30k armor.
Either reduce the damage or spread the DOT from 4 to 10 seconds.

The bonus damage it gains from neg effects gets out of hand fast with how many debuff are readily available nowadays, and with it working off of teammate applied debuffs. This is fine PvE wise but it is too much PvP wise. It needs to have the bonus damage apply only to monsters perhaps?

Yes. Not sure why developers didn't think of PvP while putting such conditions on the set.

This is a reoccurring thing and half the reason pvp is going down the tubes (devs not balancing pvp separately)

Ice staff elemental susceptibility gives what? 7 debuffs before adding vate? Think that is a source for a lot of issues

Ele susceptibility does WAY to much for a free to cast skill especially when combined with vateshran. If they gonna keep it a free to cast then wrath of elements needs to apply a cost to the skill in line with other dots. A nerf to vateshrans will see a lot less uptake in maarselock

Hmmm, 2.7k, 3.2k, 2.2k, 2.9k, 2.4k and 3k damage per tick. It's definitely strong by DoT standards, but not that glaringly overpowered (like savage werewolf used to be) that it needs deleting.

Dawnbreaker often ticks for 4k+ per second for 6 seconds on its DoT and has burst and a stun and is viewed as fine.

A small adjustment is likely all that's needed (maybe make its damage over 6 seconds instead of 4 or slightly reduce its scaling).

It seems to me, (as someone mentioned already), the main issue is the recent popularity of DoT stacking builds that many have probably forgotten how to fight against. This is a result of Mara's Balm falling out of the meta and people are just stacking a lot more DoTs/status than what we've had to deal with for a long time now thanks to pre-nerf Mara's Balm all but eliminating that playstyle from the game.

Yup, like I've said before, like 90% of my pvp encounters are people using either, or both masters duel wield/vateshran ice staff, the meta is so boring and stale that I've recently begun playing in no proc no cp campaigns for IC/Cyro sometimes

This very true. Ele sus essentially gives you about 20% damage vs the target without even taking into account it's DoT pressure, so it's like a free DoT based incap of sorts, trade the stun for range of course. Vate by itself is actually very balanced.

Also the current meta operates off things that have evaded stated designs. Stinging slashes gets non scaling flat boost. Draugrkin does too, and works with procs
