Reduced Rewards with Necrom

Have other players noticed what appears to be reduced rewards with Necrom? Prior to the release, I believe the Purple boxes were giving either a Motif, a Clue, a Treasure Map, a Survey, or 5 transmutes in every box alongside 4 other items (gold & 3 resources). But now sometimes my purple boxes will only have those 4 other items, and won't contain any variety of more valuable item.

I didn't see anything in the patch notes about rewards being reduced, but I feel like I'm seeing far fewer surveys, treasure maps and transmutes and I thought I'd never seen a purple box with only 4 rewards in it.

I've noticed that furnishings and furnishing recipes almost never drop in reward boxes anymore, but that seems to have been a thing prior to Necrom. I used to get a fair number of tapestries and other furnishing-related things in the green reward coffers for playing npcs, but now they're as scarce as hen's teeth. They don't seem to pop up in the one purple you get each day for doing the ToT npc daily too.

Given that the npcs are now playing, if not exactly smarter, in ways that make the games take longer overall, it's less and less worth it to do the ToT dailies. Seems like withmaking the ToT games "harder," they should at least have returned to previous reward frequencies.

Maybe a reason why fewer people play ToT nowadays.

It is excessively difficult to get the three wins against a player via match finder and you have to wait a long time until a match is made.

Not entirely inciting.

Just RNG. I would've sworn they nerfed loot a couple of months ago. Now I am getting great drops almost every day.

Got THREE chromium grains in one ToT box yesterday..!

It was not about mats but about motifs, blueprints etc. They drop much more rarely now.

That is really exciting and I don't doubt that there's still good rewards to be had, but as Anduin noted, I was mostly curious if other people were seeing the same change in drops that I had. In a previous patch, the devs made note when they'd reduced the frequency of more desirable mats (like powdered mother of pearl), so with them not making a note of it this time it makes me feel like I'm being gaslit

i havent really noticed too much change in the rewards, at least when playing npcs

theres been many times the purple ones only gave me about the same reward as the green ones, but they had significantly higher chance to drop the extra rewards (transmutes, recipes, etc)

the green ones can also drop those extras, but the rate is far lower

I played it mostly for the transmute drops. After Necrom hit, I played for a week, and after not getting any I gave up.

Are they still dropping?

transmutes, yes, i still usually on avg get them from the purple box fairly frequently

occasionally see them in greens but much less frequently

i dont do the tribute daily every day (i only play npcs usually), but most times i still get transmutes (though for me they get lost to the void because im capped on transmutes lol)

I haven't noticed much of a change, but I haven't been playing anywhere as much lately. I found the NPC buffs/strategy changes really off putting.

I deffinatly still have been getting transmutes though.

I know there are some people that actually like ToT. I liked it a bit when it came out, too. Personally, I still think it should have been Elder Scrolls Legends that was pulled into ESO instead of a new standalone that was kinda poorly made (hence the player retention of the game)...

but honestly, I'd rather them remove the game from ESO, but release a mobile version of the game. You unlock the decks in that game normally in ESO, as it would be connected to your account, but you can also unlock decks by playing the game. That kind of thing, people aren't really playing eso for a card game, but I could see players from ESO having the card game on their phones, picking up a game or two when away from the computer, if it also meant they'd get some rewards in-game for it like we do now. It'd probably have more players than it currently has if that was the case, but then again, it invalidates a bunch of NPCs unless they let you challenge them in game and it pops up on the app on your phone. but that's wonky.
