    Alteration Skills (Tanking/CC)
Out of the options in the poll, I want to see more Alteration. But I'd much prefer unarmed skill. Both in the sense of melee fighting unarmed, and only hands spell casting.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

    Unarmed Magicka.

It already exists as a skill set for certain enemies. ZOS has already done some of the work, and I'd REALLY love to ditch the staves.

    https://youtu.be/_BRTF9PnhBk

Yep, I don't touch staves. Never will. They're just super dull and I wish they got a rework on how they look and what each does. I love New World's approach at making a staff and a gauntlet and I'd love to have something similar in ESO. I do think ice staves should be shorter and thicker because they're more about defense and lightning staves were somewhat deformed to show the instability of lightning.

    Spear.
This game could use some more thrusting and sweeping attacks.
It's fascinating how the MMO version of a TES game doesn't have nearly every conceivable type of basic weapon imaginable. NONE of the races have discovered spears or what?

    Pet Skills (Beasts/Deadra/Undead)
I only vote pet skills because I feel absolutely robbed with how ZOS implemented the necormancer class. No permanent pets, and the only one which lasts a respectable amount of time is the skeletal arcanist/archer. It's pathetic. Most of our damage should've been coming from multiple pets we have to summon and empower, but instead we're basically just an edgier sorc that has no mobility skills.

So pet skills all the way. Give me some interesting undead minions or daedric servants.

I would like to see a void magic skill line or if not that maybe just a new type of destruction staff that's void magic themed. After I completed the markarth main quest all I could think was how cool it would be to be able to use void magic as skill line or weapon.
  • kenneth.friisb16_ESO
While any new skill line available to existing characters would be a neat addition, i'm leaning towards a a new weapon or two.
10 years and still the same weapons the game started out with.

I started a necromancer and i started an arcanist, but having to use the same weapons over and over again, has, for me, made the game feel a little stale.

They really missed an opportunity to introduce Void Magic or some explainable variant of Sword-Singing with that content.

How about illusion magic? Something for everyone.

    Paralyze - for cc/tanking.
Haste - for healers to help increase group movement speed and dps
Inspire/motivate - increase damage for DPS
Chameleon - reduce detection radius while sneaking (thematic utility ability)

A lot of that stuff would work. The main issue with CC abilities is that no one would really use them that often. I’m all for Alteration and Illusion, but they might be better served in a new class tank line.

I would rather see some new weapon skill lines. Ones that use existing assets, I in no way expect Zenimax to actually create 600 new weapon styles for three polearm variants.

The glaringly available configurations are Unarmed and a one-handed style. Some kind of non-rendered wristband could easily fill the weapon slot of the unarmed hand to work with the existing system while enabling various kung-fu or brawling fantasies.

One-handed could easily work in two distinct skill lines (with a different off-hand item): a stamina-based Duellist and a Magicka based Spellsword. Having a melee weapon skill that can regenerate magicka on heavy attacks and use magicka with its weapon abilities is an obvious direction to take a new weapon skill, and certainly appeals to me more than staves.

I guess weilding two of the magicka weapon items could work for an unarmed magicka skill line as well. Whether that means striking physically like some kind of magickal monk, or juggling the elements about yourself in a CQC vortex.

It's a shame how few tool-machine-trap based abilities there are. Can try your best to make-do with fighter's guild trap and crossbow, and PvP caltrops, but as far as I can think that's all there really is in terms of skills that use/place mundane knickknacks. Of course there's a few sets that match the bill, like the handful of dwemer construct ones, but in my mind the skill line wouldn't necessarily be all dwemer-tech themed, more of a rooted treasure-hunter tree with a mix of cc, damage, and support abilities to choose from... But this is all a pipe-dream, honestly I'm not sure there's any place in the game for a new class-independent skill line at the moment. Honestly, I just wish they'd make frost DPS a decent viable build option, or rework destro staves entirely (I mainly use staves, and I'm tired of fire and lightning being the only fun ones to use as a DPS)

I agree that Destro Staves need a rework. I used to think that they needed to be split up into three separate lines but the issue is skill point allocation would be harder. Instead they need to diversify the skill more than they are currently and perhaps even have totally different skills dependant on equipped staff.

But I guess they could separate them out into three lines, would technically create extra skills as now their ground DoT effects would be able to stack.

A lot think Spellcrafting would be good but ZoS scrapped it. However, I think some of the unused assets could be applied to new non-class skill lines.
