Devs, you need to do something about Herald Seekers...

This outdoes Stuga by a long mile.

is the single, most frustrating experience you have managed to date.

I have been kicked out of digging antiquities five times in the last 45 minutes.

The last time, right now, this is what my screen looked like:

zuy6hgc5f9g2.jpg

Furthermore, I had dug out all the bonus loot, that's gone. Not in my inventory. I guess because the ******* tentacle kicked me out of the excavation as I triggered the detonation.

You have no idea how infuriating the whole proposition is.

Can you please do something about this? My hair is turning white at an alarming rate...

Thanks.

I feel you on this. In my case this is how far away I was from the seeker and I still got hit by the tentacles and it kicked me out of the dig site...

they do really need to fix that attack, its the only attack from the herald seeker that can hit people outside of the ones currently fighting it, and based on the screenshots can be a pretty absurd range too

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

This right here. I don't mind it because I'm a bloodthirsty psychopath and everything with a red (and often most yellow) health bar will be thrashed until I get the shinies hiding in their pockets. That said, dragging other people INTO combat doesn't make sense for gameplay or lore reasons.

I mean, you're already trying to fight a blood soaked, salivating orc swinging a comedically large axe, do you REALLY want to anger the quite antiquarian going about her business? Seems kinda silly for eldritch beings to be so short sighted with all those eyes.

You're the invader coming into their territory, digging up all those shines they put in the ground for safekeeping, all those eyes can see you despoil all they worked on... I be mad too.

Ummm we are killing them because they've been corrupted and aren't behaving normally or supposed to be wandering around like that.

Those things are the worst case of "did not think it through" that they have pushed live in a while.

The whole Bastion Nymic quest feels like a last second pivot. I am pretty convinced it was going to be a deadlands-like portal and this wandering boss was going to be a more static "boss" with a large fighting arena.

This all feels hobbled together last minute, without really thinking it through.

Agreed, this is beyond ridiculous. I am actually holding off on digging antiquities I'd love to dig up and I am rushing thru dialogue just so I don't get pulled and die. I hope the antiquities don't expire before they fix this.

People want a live world until the live things start defending their property.
That range is insane though if all the screenshots I've seen are real.
Even if it's lore friendly or it made sense, it shows how feel oriented we are and I bet that don't feel good.

they only attack when you attack them.
this seeker in my screenshot just moved around calmly until another player attacked.

and when they're being fought they attack people that are super far away as well.

and the herald seekers don't own telvanni peninsula so they're not defending their property, nor do they own apocrypha.

The good thing about seekers: they don't aggro on sight, only when interacted with (attacked or you accidentally bumped into one :D )

    Bad thing:

Me after being knocked out of excavating by the tentacle that is closer. The bright fire is where they fought the seeker.

    1mzum7ie1ccd.png

There was also once an instance when the tentacles spawned inside a wayshrine. 3 or 4. I didn't take a screenshot, sadly. It's be funny if not so annoying.
Glory to you and your Dunmer House!

ZOS needs to make two places where like 10 seekers spawn... one in apocrypha, one in the telvanni peninsula. At the same time ZOS needs to make these things more easily soloable, otherwise there is going to be a major issue with players wanting to kill them but being unable to because they get no help.

These solutions would help those who want to kill them, as they would always be at the same spot where everyone hunts them. And it would prevent players getting kicked out of other activities, because the seekers only spawn at a certain spot in each zone.

I've started abandoning and rescrying until I get a spot where I've been "safe" to dig in the past. It's not going to always be "perfect", but so far it's been okay.

Once again, I have to ask please - why is an informative post like this not put on the Dev Tracker @ZOS_Kevin ? It's so important that players know what is happening with a problem issue like this without having to pick up a comment buried in one of the many threads on it. I know you've said before that you prefer to hold things off Dev Tracker until you have a final solution to report, but you link the interim updates on Crown Crate Gifting on Dev Tracker, so why not on this issue?

Must admit I quite like being tentacled whilst wandering around as then can go & join in and fight.

But it should definitely not interrupt antiquities digging. That is very annoying.

i got attacked 3 times at same wayshrine while trying to port out and couldn't see a seeker anywhere and the tenticles were spawning on the wayshrine. so there range and areas are a bit bad at present

I am of 2 minds, that the Seekers seek folks to *** off (more folks to kill them) is something I don't mind, but from the beginning or soon after of the advent of Antiquities, the locations of the dig sites were "Safe" MOBs were placed far enough away and pathed so that they would not interfere with the excavation, thus the Seekers should also be conforming to this.

That the seekers are also bothering folks at way shrines , if in my estimate, just another example of their attempt to *** off enough people that they can get fried in a timely manner, as stated above... reminding me to go look for them

Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most...

No! And I will tell you why not! Because we only get to dig antiquities in the Telvanni Peninsula, which last I checked is not the same place with Apocrypha. I myself have had times in writing in zone for people to go find seekers in Apocrypha for similar reasons. Sure enough I have also experieced most of the above, and while it did not get to an alarming rate of annoyance, it is still... an annoyance. So all in all, my only question is why are there even seekers in the Peninsula, when all their deal is in Apocrypha anyway? I understand that being a world event situation, the intention is for everyone to easily find the necessary requirements, everywhere. But given the drawback, I am of opinion that the easiest ( and comfortable for all) solution is to simply disable the seekers in the Peninsula ( or for what is worth leave them far more scarce than in Apocrypha) - and there we have it. By now this should no longer be a problem, seeing that most of those owning the place have discovered all the necessary wayshrines and means to reach Apocrypha - and for those to come, the portals in Necrom are just perfect.

Cant you just kill the seeker before starting to digg? But for what Zos should do is just to protect the digger, make them immune to outside world while digging.
Still a grudge, only to see false what u want and nothing less.
