I know, players are reporting that left and right, but I honestly haven't had any problems, yet. And they never interrupted any activity.

Whenever they engaged me, I beat them.

    agree.
i couldn't finish a delve quest because of a sudden tentacle when i was talking to the npc after exiting the delve.

the seeker was being fought way further down and away from me.

While the tentacles are easily dispatched, they are often replaced with new ones, and having to beat them is still annoying.

It doesn't matter how easily they are dispatched, they disrupt other activities and that is flawed design if it's intentional. And if it's bug, it will need to be fixed

That is a pain, but I've encountered a brand new problem with the herald seekers today - some of their paths are set across antiquity dig sites. I was trying to dig something out today and was constantly pulled out of the excavation screen by a seeker that would attack and kill me each time it passed. I must have died 10 times before I managed to finish that dig...

It’s so funny because they have the tiniest agro radius when they’re full health or unengaged, but if they’re in a initiated fight it consumes a 1/4 of the map.

I was in my settings and got attacked by one of the tentacles. The wandering seeker was nowhere near me.

They could start by deleting the tentacles.

Yes, it is worth a post as it is hardly a "minor inconvenience". It may not bother you, but it's bothering a lot of people and it may also be part of the reason why people spend less time in the new zone.

I went into necrom blind and my poor level three Khajiit was blasted by a tentacle that I had no idea where it came from. Underground boss? Wandering tentacles? Oh…it’s a seeker three hills away. I saw someone’s flame staff light attack in the air and went over to see what was happening.

I love them but I empathise why they’re an inconvenience.

Is it really a minor inconvenience when so many people complain these annoying seekers are disrupting their activities? Yesterday my group was farming ichors and we stumbled upon a hapless player who just wanted to dig up an antiquity. The fellow was forced to join the fight against two seekers before being able to resume their activity in peace. Dragging innocent bystanders into a fight against their will is hardly a very sensible way to bring people together to help new players.

Edit: by "fellow", I meant "individual". My mistake.

I wasn't even aware of these things until I started doing Sharp's intro quest then I get attacked at one point. I was confused for a couple minutes until I saw a player fighting a seeker.

It's like the annoying leash of the overland mobs extended to other player not in combat. At the very least lower the range of which the Abyssal Tendrils can spawn, and readjust the routes on those on antiquities spots.

I had this as well while doing antiquities. It is a 2 min interruption. Seems overdramatic. I like it. Gives the zone some sense of not being to peaceful but i guess everything which does disrupt gameplay in any minor form is too much already. [snip]

I am not fighting anything, I am minding my own business, fishing/traveling from wayshrine to wayshrine and being forced into a fight that is miles away or where I can't even see where the fight is going on at. Why the condescending comment that adds NOTHING to the discussion? We need ZoS to fix the radius on these silly ads, which is why I made this post. If you want more people to help lower level newbies, then those newer players need to join guilds and make friends, the same way the rest of us have done all these years, not force us to fight someone else's problems.

Need to add, the combat knocks you out of queue for ToT, dungeons, battlegrounds, Cyro, etc.

It's minor for you, not for the others who can't go about their business because they're dragged into combat, often with the boss beyond their light of sight. It's good that you like it, but please respect those who don't.

They were talking about a personal experience they had with another person their group ran into, who was a man. They were using their own story as a way to say they've experienced the same thing and agree with your larger point.

        Edit

Anyway I agree with you both. I got pulled into combat with this thing trying to use a wayshrine, and the fight was not in my immediate vicinity. It was over a hill.

Almost like Necrom or Apocrypha are a hostile environment where "3" daedric princes fight.

The normal zones are so boring and for once they add a new mechanis where they breath life into it and asap come the complaints. I just cannot see that it bothers you so much that there is a tentacle hitting you once in a while. Kill the thing and be on your way.

It would be nice (but still irritating) if killing the tentacle was all you needed to do. Unfortunately, if you're still in the (very big) range of the seeker, another tentacle will pop up. Hence why I was knocked on my feet twice while fishing, and multiple times while trying to dig up a chest.

There are ways to breathe life into a zone that don't include irritating the heck out of players and preventing them from doing what they want to do. But breathing irritation into a zone - yep, they have that one down pat now.

It's intentional that these things interrupt people nowhere in the vicinity of the fight? I'm routinely interrupted by these fights even just trying to use a wayshrine and it's not like the fight is taking place a few yards away where I can be sucked into it.

        Forced conscription rarely fosters goodwill.

Besides those creatures exist for the “more difficult overland” crowd, why should anyone interfere with their “fun” by making the content easier?
