For a character so important to lore, Morian Zenas looks like a hobo. Havnt done any quests, but encountering him, i hope he gets a better fit later on down the questline. At least put him in some house hexos gear since its essentially ancestral imperial, or some herma mora themed gear. can someone confirm if he acquires better clothing later on?

I think it's intended that he looks that way.

Have you talked to the guy? He's clearly not all there anymore.

I haven't played the prologue, but we all know that new players wouldn't have played that before starting the main quest either, so I figured I wouldn't need to.
Leramil's introduction has so many red flags that most citizens of Tamriel would strike her down as soon as she uttered her second sentence. Who approaches a complete stranger and then asks them to care about Apocrypha? Even if Mora isn't the worst of the Daedra, getting involved with him spells trouble all the same. Leramil really should lead with how Nirn is in great danger and leave the whole spiel about Hermaeus Mora for later. That's not something you want to lead with. Not in the second sentence anyway and not before mentioning that Nirn is in danger too.

"Mora offers you a purpose" definitely sounds like cultist talk and I'm sure the Militant Ordinators would want to have a word with her. I don't think a heroic character would accept the quest after such an introduction. Maybe they would start an independent investigation, but not do whatever Leramil asks.

I completed the quest picked up when you meet him and he stayed the same throughout. I don't know if this is the entirety of his appearance or if he shows up elsewhere later though.

Well, a heroic character wouldn't join the Thieves Guild or the Dark Brotherhood either. As a player of many alts I rather like that the game offers stories to suit different shades of beliefs and morality. Those who are determined to do everything with a single character have to let immersion take a bit of a back seat, IMO.

I finished the main quest and listened to all dialogue. I used the new class. I like to play through it the first time on PTR usually because it is not crowded and more immersive. I will speedrun this on live release day probably in 1,5 hour.

      Feedback and bugs: (spoiler free)
      - I liked the story. Some nice twists. Although I was expecting a Morrowind complete story since we do not get a part 2 and new DLC zone in Q4. The story however had a 'see you next season' ending which was a letdown. The story was longer (9 quests instead of 6) and I liked that in the first part you could choose the order you play them in. I do feel the story is still a big chunk shorter than the usual prologue/expansion/zone DLC/epilogue

      - I was afraid because no Q4 zone and going back to Morrowind, that the new zone would be disappointing but that is not the case. Sure there are some re-used assets. But we got 2 zones this time around. Necrom is well done city and Aphocrypa is a very big zone with very interesting architecture, skyboxes and vibe. Top notch. Also the main quest has quite a lot specially build sections with some epic sights.

      - I had only one minor bug during the quest. In the ending ceremony the 'ghost spell' from the previous mission step remained active so the whole mission had this green distorted visual effect.

      - Fun boss fights. Also the fact that I played with the new class in a totally different style kept me on my toes during those fights. I also didn't bring soul gems or health potions so the stakes were a bit higher.

      - The music isn't implemented or it is bugged. Most of my time I had some super cheerful fantasy music playing from galen mixed up with some deadlands. Very odd sometimes but I ignored it.

      - Writing sometimes has (like all expansions) moments of 'lore drop'. I personally don't think you need all this fancy vocabulary of objects, people etc if they are only used or mentioned once. For me this detracts from story flow. I would rather have more character interactions instead.

      - New class if fun but if you play during story missions with your camera close there is quite a lot of visual noise to actually see your enemies. I personally would like the effects a bit more transparent.

      - The new public events weren't active (or I don't know how to activate them)

      - Value: I paid 29 euros for my pre-order and this feel about right for the content (quests, delves, sets, dungeons, class). I do hope we get the 'endless dungeon' for free like we got the Q4 zones the past years. Otherwise, it is less value compared to the past 3 years I played ESO.

I would say that's a little different. You are really doing nothing else in those DLCs other than joining these factions. Being part of those specific factions was the goal from the start and it was content meant to last only three months. This is a start of a multi-year storyline that is about the fate of the world. That is something everybody should care about, including heroic characters. So I think it was simply a very poor introduction to the story, that could have been improved if Leramil had been just a bit more subtle about her connections to Hermaeus Mora at first. That is my feedback.

Just finished it and honestly, I'm pleasantly surprised. I've hated the past 2 years stories and I feel like this one is what they were trying to be. An actual political story that takes itself seriously. Sure, reality could end but it doesn't feel like I'm the sole person who has to fix it due to the allies I get. And I actually enjoy my allies this time. It's also nice how it doesn't matter if I'm the Vestige or not, I'm just chosen by fate. I also really like how there's not actually a BBEG, just entities following their nature. The plot twists are completely unpredictable, while in past storylines they've been really predictable. I could see how this can become a multi-year story without feeling like I need the next DLC right this instant. I might actually willingly replay this quest like I do with Summerset. Overall, great job.

I will say though, I expected Hermaeus Mora to comment on me being an Arcanist at the beginning, but he did not. I also think the relationship between Leramil and Gadayn seemed a bit unnecessary. I'm not sure where their sparks come from, I see no chemistry between them. I think it distracts from the plot.

He's only wearing that kind of clothing because he's a prisoner in that place so it makes sense for him to look like a prisoner. You don't see him getting better clothes, but I assume he'll be checking out the nearest clothier post-quest.

I'm don't like Mora or cosmic horror but, I would say it's one of the better chapter main quests in recent years. As I finished it in one night last night, I may have missed some details.

The biggest bug I hit in the main quest was the Bindery Quest marker issue that has already been mentioned.

The strongest point for me would probably be the environments.

The characters didn't appeal much at first and it felt a bit contrived to have the Mouthless with me but, by the end I did like them. At times it did almost feel more like Dragon Age where the npcs are talking to one another (albeit with less conflict)

The sound was generally good but, at times it seemed like the voice acting could get overwhelmed by the noises some of the items produced.

It did at times feel like my character was an idiot but, that's kind of normal for ESO.

The plot was in my view the weak point keeping it at solid rather than great. The pitch to help Mora is kind of a big ask on heroic characters as he's not the most trustworthy. The Telvanni in the quest line felt a bit off . The mystery of what the reveal was going to be did keep me interested but, the actual reveal was a bit underwhelming and made me feel used by Mora.

I was kind of surprised at the lack of Tribunal participation in the main quest and that Necrom didn't seem to be very important.

I am kind of curious about the decision making behind the trailer for Necrom. At least for me, the trailer painted a worse picture than the reality. Maybe I'm getting old and I'm not the audience anymore or maybe marketing missed a step.

I did like the story, although oddly enough, it felt a bit anti-climatic at the end. I realize that's hard to swallow since
We fight off two different Daedric Princes and this story's patron is satisfied.

What can I say? I just kept expecting all Oblivion to break loose during the medal ceremonies.

But I can see that this will set up an interesting story in the near future...
I'm guessing that for the tenth anniversary chapter, the outsider Dremora Torvesard will team up with the outsider Dremora Lyranth to release the Forgotten Prince? Hey, maybe the Vestige can team up with Molag Bal... what's Malcolm MacDowell up to?

      • The middle portion of the main quest doesn’t really give a good sense of escalation - ‘We’re completely screwed if the bad guys do X!’ ‘They just did X.’ ‘It’s actually okay as long as they don’t manage Y!’ ‘They managed Y.’ ‘It’s still okay as long as they don’t…’ You get the picture. The stakes are too vague and the goalposts move too much. The beginning and end aren’t too bad, just the middle. This was in spite of the quests being a good bit shorter than some previous zones.
      • Peryite got screwed as far as minions. All reused assets as far as I can see. Poor guy got completely forgotten in the base game and now this, I’m starting to feel sorry for him.
      • Vaermina’s Mind Terrors (? The things with a zillion arms) are really cool though.
      • Apocrypha zone is very, very nice, kudos to the people responsible. Telvanni Peninsula unfortunately is just a rehash of the previous Morrowind zones as far as terrain, and isn’t very exciting at all. I do like that the mushroom towers have their own icons though.
      • Barely anyone even blinks at me being the minion of a Daedric Prince. I think it was an obstacle all of once the entire questline. I know the Telvanni are a bit flexible in that regard but a little more distrust would have gone a long way.
      • I wish we could read the walls of books.

Also a comment on the ending:
I admit when they started talking about getting rid of another Daedric Prince I was thinking Jyggalag. :p New Prince’s sphere sounds intriguing.

Mora seems way too calm about his big secret getting out given how much he was freaking out the rest of the questline though!
He's only wearing that kind of clothing because he's a prisoner in that place so it makes sense for him to look like a prisoner. You don't see him getting better clothes, but I assume he'll be checking out the nearest clothier post-quest.

IIRC he was wearing robes during the epilogue quest, where everyone shows up to pat you on the back.

I found the sound was terrible. Half the time Mora or Scruut were talking to me I couldn't hear them, I did the whole find the Mythos thing twice because I couldn't hear Mora sending me to the midden to meet Leramil. The ambient noise was blasting so loud I missed things I was supposed to do.

I finally suicided off one of the ramps and picked go to the wayshrine which delivered me to where I needed to be.

If I had stayed dead that would have been ok too. By this time I was so frustrated I vowed if I ever got out of there I would delete the PTS.

Also, did anyone notice Torvesard in the group of NPCs gathered in Apocrypha to celebrate your triumphant victory over the baddies? I couldn't interact with him and tbh, he didn't even have a name like the other NPCs. But it was definitely him hanging about.

I’ll just say after High Isle, I really hope they don’t waste a zone on the forgotten Daedric Prince’s realm. Much rather they focus on Tamriel and Daedric realms we know about not original stuff like high isle. I would even take re-doing old zones over obscure locations not prevalent in the lore.

Died at boss fight with Vaermina and it locked up. Was unable to respawn either using here or wayshrine and had to replay entire last portion from where you talk to companions before entering portal - sucked. This is just about a quest ending bug. Not sure I want to continue.
