Suggestion: Seperate Inventory Section For Consumables

Bobargus

Hello everyone,

I would like to suggest a seperate, and preferably without a carry limit, inventory section for the consumables.

In my opinion, for example, the daily login rewards give players more than ample amount of consumables, and rather than being useful, these consumables turn out to be quite the hindrance on the player, as they fill up the inventory, and eventually, the bank slots as well. If i could sell them, i would have done so ages ago. But i can't. And i do not wish to destroy them either.

Thank you for reading my post. Please feel free to share your opinions as well.

He is referring to the ESO+ craftbag for storing craft materials.

I'd rather see a "furniture bag" than a "consumables bag".
And like the craft bag, it would have to be part of ESO+ since the game needs more incentives for a subscription.

Any new "bag" for storage of related items would be fine by me, also fine by me to be an ESO+ perk, I think incentives to subscribe are always good.

However something to please everyone could be to make items like potions store in stacks of 1000 instead of the current 200, after all Crown Poisons already do. Soul gems are another item that would benefit from storing in 1k stacks. 😀

So, you don't want to support the game, and also want to have no limit on how much burden you place on the server for storage.

      Interesting take.

I think the amount of storage we receive is fine, even for non-subbers, although being a crafter without the Craft Bag is a bit of a nightmare.

A treasure map bag would be preferable to me, I just delete excess consumables. But I'll take anything.

A bottomless consumables bag is unnecessary as it does not take up much bag space.

This isn't some plucky little indie start up trying to get their game going. Zenimax got bought by Microsoft for something like $8billion. If they wanted to get the bestest, shiniest new servers and give us all unlimited crafting and housing slots, the company could afford it.

As for OP, I'm sorry its a nice idea but it will never happen. Inventory bloat is a very deliberate and subtle way of pushing people towards eso+ and making profit for the business.

So, you receive too many free consumables that you consider useless; you can't sell them, you can't give them away and you don't want to destroy them... your only option left is to store them. Your choices have made this a you problem.

I keep a few stacks of the potions we get from the daily rewards in a chest and destroy the rest as I get them. I will never use them all and see no reason to keep the extra.

I know you said you don't like deleting them, but I think it's a good habit to get into. If they're building up it's because you're getting them faster than you're using them and that's not likely to change so there's no point holding onto them even if they didn't take up inventory space because you're never going to get through them all.

I use free ESO+ trials as a prompt to sort out my bank and inventories, partially because double bank space and moving crafting materials to the bag makes it easier to do but also because it's an incentive to get on and do it before the trial ends instead of putting it off because it's boring. (I have 9 characters and it usually only takes me an hour or so.)

I put everything from all my characters inventories into the bank, then I go through them in order and withdraw what each one needs and will actually use. (If anything is missing, like I don't have enough of the right type of food, I'll make a note to craft it later.) Then I go through what's left in the bank and make myself say why I'm keeping it. If I don't have a reason I sell or delete it.

That doesn't have to be all or nothing either. I'll keep about 1,000 of the potions from login rewards, which is far more than I need but also 'only' 5 stacks, and delete anything over that. Likewise I keep 1 stack of repair kits spare and sell or delete the extras. (Apparently some people will buy repair kits from guild stores.)

I don't really see the point of the OP calling for a separate inventory bag for stuff that he won't use yet won't destroy. It seems completely unnecessary to me. I have yet to see complaints about inventory management that wouldn't be resolved by the complainants stopping totally pointless hoarding.

There is no need for a consumable bag, however, there is a requirement to expand the number of bank slots to cater for the increased number of style items.
The number of styles increases with each game/DLC release, and occasionally a alchemy product will be released as well; soon the number of thes items will exceed the 200 item bank slots.

That would actually be a great idea, instead of 200 have it as the craft bag, if it’s the same item why not stack it in the 1000s instead of having 15 stacks of soup gems in the bank and more in your inventory, making 1000 of the same potion/poison should stack the same. It would free up space for the hoarders

As someone who just recently destroyed 4000 Crown Tripots, I would like the stack size to be increased on some things.

Note, I have 1800 more Crown Tripots in the bank and more than a 1000 across my Alts.

So, yea, please increase the stack size

Are soup gems a new kind of stock cube, but longer lasting or reusable - you can refill them with a soul and depending on the kind of soul you fill them with the soup flavor will be a different one?

Style materials, which goes up every time a new motif is added . If you don't have eso plus then you have to store them in your backpack or the bank, there is nothing else.

I think I read somewhere that they're going to add something like that in a future update, but I can't find it now.

If you're on PC you can use IsJusta Favorite Collectibles, which adds favourites tabs for most of the stuff in the collectibles menu (and actually in the menu, not in a seperate add-on menu).

I'd rather they just make them sellable, even for a nominal amount of 1 gold each.

Increasing stack size would be another option.

I did recently destroy a ton of potions and poisons from the rewards.

From what I recall from one of the ESO Live streams, I think they're going to be adding some kind of container thingy that we'll be able to put multiple items into. I don't know how that will work, but if the container is something se can store in the bank then it could be a way to help us better manage our bank and inventory space.

      Thanks. :)

But yeah, if it doesn't allow for different favourites on each character it's not much use. IsJusta Favorite Collectibles didn't originally, but because it's an addon it was easy to change that by editing it in Notepad (and later the author added that option), that's not so easy to do with base game features.

Interesting that they're added random mounts too. I've got an addon for that as well and often thought it's the most pointless one I've installed but also one of the ones I really miss when it's not working.
