bad anniversary

Hi all. I want to share my observations. We've all been waiting for this anniversary, as it's a huge celebration for the players and creators of the game. But this year it doesn't feel like a holiday at all. We receive rewards for completing daily quests. I complete daily crafting quests. For each character, this is 7 quests = 7 boxes. In the past two years, I was guaranteed to drop 1 craft motif out of 3-4 boxes. Approximately it turns out 2 pages from one character.
What do we have now?
I complete (2 characters) 14 quests = 14 boxes. I can only get ONE craft motif. I have been watching this statistic for 4 days now. This cannot be an accident. Why such a difference compared to previous anniversaries? Why be greedy on your own holiday? This is the only event I like in the game because it was generous. But now it's been ruined? Is this a trend? share your impressions.

I don't know the numbers for drops, but I've done 2 days of dailies on 1 character, so 10? and had 1 drop (shoulder). Maybe i got lucky or maybe you got unlucky, i don't think the actual numbers/percents can be guessed from such a small sample size.

You must just have really poor RNG. I've dropped at least 150+ motifs so far this event, and like 10-12 Bonemold pages.

And let's be real here, the drop rate is fairly decent. The individual style pages in the past have been hilariously abundant, to the point of worthlessness. They could have just given every one the entire set of pages on day one and it wouldn't have made a difference as people are usually deleting the pages by the end of the event.

At least these have some level of rarity that decreases with increased participation in the event.

I get a lot of motifs, too. But the bonemold style page is rather rare, i fear. I get one per day. And mostly on my second char doing crafting writs, so somewhere between the 7th and 12th writ (I don't do alchemy writs).

And honestly, I am okay with that drop rate.

Although I find it odd, that I have no bonemold drop with any of the zone dailies that I do. And I do 12 daillies on 3 characters (only they are strong enough to SOLO DLC WBs). That makes another 36 anniversary boxes and I still got bonemold on these ominous writ boxes. That happened exactly like this three times by now. I figure there is a cooldown for bonemold drops? An hour maybe? Or three? 🤷‍♂️

I already had some copies of the bonemold style pages on multiple characters within 3 days of doing writs. You just have bad rng right now.

And honestly, I am okay with that drop rate.

Yeah, I'll repeat. Crafting motif drop rates are on par with how they have always been for this event. I do around 130 dailies per day (mostly all crafting writs on my 18 characters), get between 20-30 motif page drops per day. Got extra on the first day as I prepped a full suite of writs and other dailies leading into the event. So around 150+ drops so far. Projecting around 4-5M in gold sales from them, which again, is right on pace for this event since its inception.

Have you considered methods for gathering luck? I offer regular sacrifices to luck God to prevent this situation.

in past years there were a lot of them, I traded them. And now with 8 characters I have 4 pages per day (56 boxes). This is nothing.

Well I officially have the worst RNG of everyone.

I've done at least 150 dailies now, opened about anniv 150 boxes, including doing the crafting ones every day for the event and gotten ZERO style pages. In fact, I barely get crafting motifs too, maybe 2 out of 100 boxes. It's all mats. I feel like my account is bugged or something, like it permanently thinks I've already gotten the daily chance for the style page or something. I have no idea.

I actually made a free account to check if it was just me, and so far they've had better luck than me (more crafting motifs) but still no Bonemold. At this point I will have pay top dollar if I even want it. It feels super borked to me.

As bad as the Jester's pages drop was, I at least got 3 in the time the event was on. At this point I will be lucky to get any.

I’ve been doing the anniversary dailies on my many alts (I have 3 accounts) every year since they began, and to me the RNG seems about the same as always. So far I’ve gotten lot of motifs, including many I didn’t previously have. Also lots of blue recipes, gold mats, a couple of potent nirncruxes, at least 1 perfect roe, most pieces of the bonemold set, and of course lots of crafting mats.

I love this event, even though by the end of it, I always feel as if I never want to approach a crafting station again

I've been doing daily writs with 8..3 characters and dailies with one and I get plenty enough motifs to get warehouse management blues. But I take it as a game and not a for profit work.

first day I had the legs and head from the new bonmold
now I have 20+ motifs of other styles that I am selling.

I 'm not sure how many I've gotten since I give them all away. However this year the whole thing seems boring and repetitive.
I find myself not enthusiastic at all.

You aren't the only one. This year just feels strange to me. I am also getting basically nothing but mats on my main character. No Bonemold pages, only one on an alt. No motifs, only an occasional one on an alt. Never get them on my main.

This is definitely different from previous experiences for me and something just feels off.

You are thinking too materially. Is it a holiday for you, or a desire for material gain? Is the thought of your favorite video game celebrating another anniversary (the 9th) above all else, or is the award more important?

Since we both understand that behind all the idle speeches lies materialism, yes - I would say that you are just unlucky with RNG.

I've been doing pretty well. I've gotten at least one bonemold style page every day (and now have them all because I spent tickets on the only one that hadn't dropped for me yet - wanted to complete the set and be done with it), and plenty of mats, recipes, and motifs that I didn't already have. Usually my RNG sucks at these events, but the RNG goddess is shining on me this time around.

New: A small chance for a tradeable outfit style page for the Bonemold armor style.

- If you’ve already collected a Bonemold armor style earlier that day, you can instead be rewarded with either a Saberkeel style page or a Worm Cult style page.

According to the event article, the Bonemold style pages have a small chance to drop once per day. Those people getting multiple pages per day are just benefiting from a bug...

So far I have gotten a single page to drop within 10-20 boxes each day, with 3 of those days being the exact same style page...

The new style pages are only once per day drops (when working as intended), and I already have all previous year rewards. But since 99% of the rewards from boxes is crafting materials, and I currently don't have craftbag+ (I purchase all content separately), then this event is kind of a bust for me too. I just do enough dailies to get my one style page and then I'm off to play something else until the next day.

I'm just gonna say that cooldowns on loot drops is effing stupid. And that's the nicest thing I can say about it...

I'm getting ok amount of styles/motifs. But compared to my husband, he's getting tons. I love getting the transmutes however. I think that's a great idea. What I dislike is opening the boxes on my alts and accidentally learning a praxis/recipe etc. Grrrr.

I was waiting for this holiday for certain reasons, one of them is trade. I love trading. Don't you like it? Then you like something else. This turns into an argument about preferences

. Previously, this holiday brought a wow effect, because an expensive drop fell. Now this effect does not exist. Maybe next year I'll be lucky

Sorry to say that. But that is not true. During the first Anniversary-Event the Motif drop rates were much higher than now. During the 1st event you had - idk - every 2-3 boxes a Motif. The devs tuned that down considerably for the 2nd event

Atm its - at least for me - around 1 Motif every 14-16 boxes. In my opinion that is a bit to bad of a drop rate. It should be more around like 1 Motif every 7 boxes, so that u have a *good* chance to get at least one Motif page per character when doing crafting dailies.

A good thing the devs could do would be some sort of mechanic through which the drop chances from the event boxes would increase. Like they did for the writs for example (the more Motif pages you already have learned, the higher the chances are for you to get more motifs drops from the event boxes). Or they could make the drops from the event boxes curated. With that you could/would only get Motifs you are still missing on the char you are opening the boxes.

I have 17 Alts, been doing Writs for the Event since Friday. So, 4 Days.

4 times 17 = 68 Turns

68 turns times 7 Writs = 476 Writs

I have pulled 88 Motifs

I have pulled 198 Recipes

18.5% chance to get a Motif
41.5% Chance to get a Recipe
