using the lfg pug finder to handpick candidates for your small group of elitists is what is wrong, make your group from your guild, friends and contacts list instead of berating random players. other games instituted a timer penalty for kicking people from the group, perhaps its time to do that here
Relationships are like flowers; they need to be watered if they are to grow
Oh now it was sarcasm. Right. It's pretty obvious that you got schooled, and are too proud to simply admit it.
I call you a kid because you act like one. You can't seem to comprehend simple arguments. You have the memory of a goldfish. You cling to double standards. You can't seem to respect that not everyone wants to play like you.

I don´t consider my self "schooled" by you. I got my schooling elsewhere. Im sure you will too, eventually.
I respect others just fine. I believe it´s you who have trouble with that.
But I am going to leave you to your ramblings old man.
I was asked about two years ago for rights to publish several of my articles about this sort of behavior. Not because I am specially talented at writing, but because I had been to both ends of the spectrum.
There have always been a small portion of gamers who were more concerned with Beating the game than its actual content or nature, and when MMOs came into being, that thinking mutated into two basic natures.
The Raid-Rules way of thinking, which essentially dictates that if you aren't willing to forego everything else to dedicate your life/time/resources to This Game, Right Now, and until the group/guild/clan/faction WINS - you are not playing the game Correctly and are ruining the game for those who do.
And what I call MECHs. Back in the first few MMOs they formed private communities (guilds didn't exist yet) and were dedicated to individual character Perfections. Basically, the original MMO version of Munchkins (min/maxers).
The later isn't so bad, since they are more concerned with their Own character and ability than how inferior someone else might be --- although many trying to Emulate them often miss the mark and end up more worried about being Better than You than about Perfecting themselves..
The former is a plague on gaming in general. While I can't say their gaming choices are Wrong - because it is Their gameplay, not mine - they tend to have a largely Negative impact on the gaming experience of everyone they come across who doesn't share their "Win It NOW!" attitude.
They're the ones you hear over voip going into unintelligible streams of profanity over others not Doing As Told in PvP matches and things of that sort.
I only hope games will begin to lead us back Away from that sort of gaming style. Presently, most games Reward that behavior.

Where have any of us failed to realize or said that. From what i've read and posted myself I got quite the opposite.Simple solution:
Find other (non elitist) players to group with?
Sad that these so called "elite" players fail to realize even the best geared player can still suck, personally would rather have a badly geared person that knows how to play over some twink that cant any day!
Ugh, totally agree with you OP. I see why there are elitist groups, many formed ages ago and are old guilds, etc, and I could care less if they do as they wish, and there really isn't much way to stop it unless you want a game devoid of all competition... but, I do get really annoyed at it & see both its good and bad effects on the game. It's what destroyed TESO for me in some ways-in beta people seemed a lot kinder and warm to each other, all of a sudden these hardcore people showed up with their cold hearts :'(.... and turned this into a rat race. No more hours spent chatting with random strangers, emoting, getting to know each other, nope, now you're in a guild and that's who you're with and no one else. No time for fun, no time for friend-making, just the grinding race to the top. Well, that's fine, I want to do all of the content too, but I am not about to run to max vet rank and work endlessly to be at the top of a game. So, I am an outcast, who sits in the city naked trying to befriend the cold-hearted people, waiting for my sub to end...

And i played mmo's since beta of UO where only people inside your actuall screen could see what you said and no friendlist having everyone on your icq list
Random banter being random.

For example we had a sorcerer who kept dying...to everything in a vet dungeon. Then after asking we found out he had 1200 hp...at vet 7. Safe to say, we had to find another player to replace him.
"They" believe they are looked up to because they are "elite" and "hardcore". In reality.....well, its up to you to decide. I know what I think.
