Provisioner Hireling, where did he go?

I have 2 crafting toons, one does clothier and woodworking, the other provisioning and enchanting. I've noticed that the clothier and woodworking chests arrive like clockwork, but I have not received a provisioner chest in 2 days (2/3 skill points in it). Also...my enchanters chest has not shown up today. Is this possibly due to the patch? Is it somehow related to the toon that isn't getting their chests? I like hirelings, so this isn't a complaint about them or the mats I get from them. I've gotten lots of useful stuff, but don't want to waste points in something if it isn't going to work at all.

You must use the same lazy little b*stard I do. He turns up when he likes, sometimes he doesn't at all. Hireling my ass, I could rent a mudcrab to deliver faster !

Make sure you are logging on to your toon that has the Provisioner Hireling every day or the mail won't show up.

First of all, that can't be true, there were days in the past where I never logged onto my woodworker/clothier toon, and those chests still showed up (I had 2 or 3 of each sitting in my mail for a while). Second, lately I log on both my toons every day for inventory management. I also now know I need to open the proper chests with the proper toons, so I'm logging onto my provisioner, not seeing a chest now in slightly more than 48 hours.

I asked in game, and someone mentioned they hadn't gotted one one day once, and the following day there was a funny letter about the delay. But the description of hirelings is that they bring stuff once a day....so.

I have no issue when I get not much in my chest, I know there is RNG involved, but I'd like to at least get the chest so my gamble on getting something is actually happening!

None of this hireling stuff makes any sense. They send me stuff at different times. Sometimes just a single potato or an onion. The others send me stuff I don't want. All of them are rank 2 or 3.

It sounded good initially, but in reality, it's worse than a Nord fishing in werewolf form.

I always get the mail on the appropriate character with the hireling when I first log them in that day. The mail only pops up when that particular character logs in. I only have Clothier and Blacksmith though, I didn't bother getting the Provisioner one. I did notice once the Clothier one went to my Blacksmith, which was a bit weird, but it only happened once.
