Request: "quick" option to thank players who revive you

I've been revived a handful of times in PvP and iPvE and would love the ability to thank the player - in the spirit of rewarding and encouraging good team play. Today I'd have to remember the spelling of the team player's name and send them a whisper, which can take a while when on the battlefield. And half the time, if I'm honest, I forget the player's name or didn't catch it in the first place. I wish there was an option to "accept and thank player" for a revive. I'm sure it could be implemented many ways, but I just feel plain rude when I don't say anything because the player's run off and I didn't catch his/her name, forgot it, or got caught up in battle immediately after being revived.

I think this option - how ever implemented - might drive more productive revives on the battlefield.

how about just dropping a fast Ty in /say, i dont really see a valid reason to do this when a /say Ty is more then enough in my opinion.
and if you wanted a more productive revive option, theres another option thats brilliantly done in another game i cant think of right now, but easy enough add some xp when you revive, with the current price of the repair costs i dont think it would be exploited that much since there is no dueling anyway.
and to prevent the posibility of exploitation, just add a little timer so you dont get xp for 5 minutes if you revive the same character ;-) or something like that.

As someone who looks for those opportunities to help out fellow soulless ones in game, it's usually reward enough to watch them get up.

lol, I had one chap follow me around into the areas he shouldn't have been to thank me. Spent more time saving his arse as he fled after thanking me with a train of daedra chasing him down lol.

Dropping that ty in /say is definitely not a bad idea, unless it's going to get you killed right away all over again. The quick option allows you to survive and put your Good Samaritan's Soul Gem to good use.

yea well the reason i think most people dont res others are that especially in cyrodill, is not that cheap. soul gems for lvl 50 are quite expensive even when they are empty, so to get some more reward (xp) for the use of your "hard" earned soul gems wouldnt be that bad ^^

I like to do a /cheer when somebody helps me out, personally. :) Seems to send the message pretty well.

Nice to see someone else who cares about this though. To date, nobody I've saved from death or revived has ever given me so much as a "ty". They just run off toward their next near-death experience.

It can be dangerous to spend vulnerable seconds reviving someone, too. All the more reason to be able to thank the person who does goes that extra mile. I get a little miffed when I do that for somebody and they just run off, and I feel bad if my rescuer runs off before I can even type "ty."

A gold payment of 50-100 gold to cover the soul gem would do nicely.

I would like a /tip command. Just /tip 100 someone for doing something awesome.

Right alongside a custom music and/or dance movement creation UI! ^_^

I spent very little time on Star Wars Galaxies, but I had a lot of fun playing a dancer/musician back then. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities for casual/social players.

Get the person's name and send them a TY and or tip in the mail. If you aren't VR10 in pvp you might go broke ;)

If you don't have time to type "/s ty" then what makes you think you'll have time to use a radial menu or similar to thank them?

I take the time to thank people even for helping me finish fights I was struggling with. At no point has the idea of making it a part of the UI ever occurred to me, nor do I think it's a good idea after seeing it presented.

Your heart's in the right place, but there is just no reason for something like this to be in the game. Perhaps make a macro with an addon.

I've never been revived by a random player (rage-resurrection usually stops any chances of that), but I have revived other players. I have a habit of running away as soon as I see them get up if we're not at an Anchor as it's enough for me to know that they accepted the revive, but a few have thanked me in /say to which I've returned with a "You're welcome". Nonetheless an easy/safe way of saying thank you to the Good Samaritan would be an excellent feature and might encourage more players to help a random person out. I would certainly appreciate being thanked but I don't go out of my way to get a thanks from people for doing something I'll do regardless of whether or not there's a reward.

I like this idea the OP has. A little common courtesy in game goes a long way toward improving everyone's experience.

"/say thank you" and "/say your welcome" could be added as keybinds in our settings. Then you just bind them up to some spare keys and when needed, one key does the job.

This is why I suggested using a macro through an addon. I don't believe it's something that ZoS should spend resources on adding to the default UI though. Less is more, especially when you have millions of lines of code.

How about a patch that provides experience for reviving a player; you get experience for killing things, why not for reviving someone?
