Redguard has always (in TES games) been my favorite race - still is, in ESO - followed closely by Breton, Bosmer, Khajiit, and Imperial.

That is all.

It's funny, I've always gone for a different race every TES game. Morrowind I was hardcore Bosmer, but I did like playing Argonian as well. With Oblivion, I did keep playing both of those, but tbh I wasn't really impressed with either. Really the main reason I liked the Bosmer so much was because I like playing short characters (please bring the height slider back for TES6!)

But a few years after Skyrim came out, I finally found my true calling in all of their muscley tusky glory. I really need to go back and do a true Orc replay of all the single player games this summer...

I really like all the elves and the Khajiit, but if I had to choose one, it would be the grumpy Dunmer I first met in Morrowind!

I think some of their most compelling lore hasn't really been explored yet; Direnni heritage, and aptitude for conjuration, for examples.

Although I do like the hints at innate duality in the Breton nature hinted at during the Legacy- I think it hints at a "dark side" that I'd also love to see explored.


Although this Kirkbridean vision might be too outlandish for ESO, I think some cues could be taken from it. I love the beasty leg- feels like a kind of "corruption" thing- perhaps as a price paid for their penchant for conjuration, which, after all, deals much with the plains of Oblivion.

Their ancestral geography is such a key part of their story too- and for this reason I hope that we haven't seen all that we ever will of High Rock in this game. Other than a base-game refresh (that would also save Valenwood), Jehanna remains our only hope to see High Rock be what it really could be.

Does anyone realize just how much more loved Dunmer would be if it just weren't for their Slavery schtick? I like what WoW did with their Dark/Night Elves.

It’s Khajiit, not Kahjiit

Night Elves were my chosen race in WoW. Yes I did play other races (Alliance - I didn't have much use for Horde, just like I don't have any use for EP here).

Unfortunately, WoW did a whole bunch of not-fun-for-me stuff - and the "redo" of Night Elves (and the other races) was the last straw. My girls looked nothing like themselves after that, and nothing I could do made them better. *shrug* They ddn't care, but they lost 7 subs paid (at that time) 6 months each.

Which is why I do not approve of "remakes" of characters etc in any game. Some of us who've been around a long time in games do NOT appreciate our characters no longer looking like we made them.

So, no. NO GRAPHICS "updates". And no, Dunmer would never be anything I want to play - has nothing to do with the slavery thing. Has to do with not being able to make a good looking Dunmer fem no matter what. Because I can totally ignore the slavery issue, just like I do anything else in a game like this that doesn't fit my personal version of fun - but I can't ignore the ugly Dunmer fem faces.

Khajiit used to be #1 for me because I liked the visuals and the number of other Khajiit you ran into was low enough you could just ignore the lore that was related to them. But, ESO has enough Khajiit content that you can't really pretend the other Khajiit are outliers.

I like all the races except Argonians and Khajit. I chose Bosmer because I played one way back in the earlier TES games, and my ESO main is a Bosmer. But any of the human and elven races work for me.

Kinda guessing that Nord wasn't even included in a poll because it had no justice since Morrowind same as Bretons. Not even talking how boring they were in recent expansions in eso, it's borderline sacrilege lol.

It depends on what you want to do.

Neither of Mer or Men, the Argonians are truly unique. Being the only race that had the daedra retreat and close their gates in fear is definitely interesting. Too much mystery in their past that I hope gets cleared up one day, like how powerful ARE the Hist? What's the real reason the Argonians let their great civilization (as hinted at by the xanmeers) fall? Why allow themselves to be slaves when they can drive off daedric invasion? Or create(suspected) viruses that can decimate anyone w/o Argonian DNA? Are the Hist executing a very long term plan and what is their ultimate goal? No one, not armies, emperors, dark elves, over all the millennia, have conquered the core of their homeland. What's there that the Sarpa, naga (and possibly unknown Argonian races?) Protect?

All in all Argonians (the face of the Hist) as a race are humble to an extreme fault. Argonians let the other races of Nirn play, but if they decide to act all of nirn better sit up and pay attention.

It was pointed out to me that I SHOULD add I'm probably biased as I spent 10-13 years as an iksar main on another game. Doesn't change the mystery surrounding Argonians though!
