Ok, real talk...your backpack, including the two little packs that go with your mount, are able to carry a max of 215 items...

A GIGANTIC trunk that you can purchase with writs, only holds 60 items?

60 ITEMS!?

tiny backpacks, honkin huge chest. Something isn't adding up here.

The tiny backpacks access an alternate dimension so are bigger on the inside than the outside. The huge chest is just a chest.

I know you're joking here, but the Enchanted Snowglobe House's description basically confirmed that they're already borrowing dimension folding technology from Doctor Who.

"This miniature Snow Globe Home, built with experimental diminution magic borrowed from the Tribunal, is tiny on the outside but expansive on the inside. Its eternally-festive gentle snowfall makes it feel even more magical."

Also Clockwork City is like, the size of a human torso when viewed from the outside.

    What backpack?

Unless you're using one of the few outfits which includes one your character doesn't have a bag at all, and you could strip them down to their underwear without losing any carrying capacity. They can also carry objects (furnishings for example) bigger than they are.

On that basis it seems somewhat contradictory to worry about the carrying capacity of this 'bag' compared to it's perceived size.

Not sure where you're getting 6 small chests from? There are 4 coffers (small, 30 slot chests), and 4 chests (the 60 slot chests). Is there something I'm missing?

Tiny hip/backpack space vs huge trunks don't seem to make sense to me, I was expecting the trunks to be a lot bigger, like 200 space bigger at the least. Same with the smaller chests, 100 space would make more sense.

Some increase in chest space would be nice, or maybe bring more chests out.

I don't bother with the pack pets but have 2 personal guild banks, several alt accounts and 18 characters with maxed out horse training.

for these three specific pets, it's 5 per pet across all characters on the account.

BTT: I'm at 17 characters, all maxed out bags, the ESO+ bank size AND a full guild bank at my personal service. Guess what? I still need more space! Doing housing in this game is so hard and dissatisfying as you simply can't have all of your furnishings available at all times, they simply don't fit in your maxed out bags + maxed out bank. I have to store thousands of items in different houses and always need to go there if i need one. THAT'S the real pain.

I don't have a physical back pack, I have a classic Portable Hole. Folds up like a handkerchief in my pocket too! B)

It's how I've been running around all weekend with the entire furniture contents of a master bedroom and bath.
And I still have plenty of room for daily quest loots!

Remodeled my bedroom wing of my home this weekend and wanted to take a break in the middle.
    Thanks Portable Hole! <3

Honestly, I don't see any reason to limit the bank or bag at all. (Maybe just as a benefit of ESO+, I would understand that...)
You can summon creatures as large as a house, split the water and kill the mightiest monster - but fail to put another glyph into your bag, which already is the size of 8 trucks
No, really, there have been added so many items one might want to keep since the beginning, but the capacity upgrades never kept pace.

Unfortunately, there are mostly technical reasons.
If you collect every broom in TES V: Skyrim, one day you'll get some freezes opening the chest in your house.
Imagine the same for thousands of players on both client and server sides.

I'm not convinced of that. If a large number of the same item caused problems, the ESO+ craft bag wouldn't exist.

That was a simple example of game inventory difficulties for people who don't see _any_ reason to limit it.

We can discuss many technical details of inventory implementation and optimisation, but I found it pointless here. It won't be helpful nor for devs nor for players.

I think of it more along the lines of Harry Potter... Mary Poppins was slightly before my time. I think Hermione's bag or even Newt Scamander's suitcase is more representative of our inventory and crafting bag.

Your starter backpack holds only 60 items. Either "mundane" or "basic pocket-dimension" models, as it were. As you pay for upgrades, you get more strongly enchanted packs capable of holding more "space."

Let's ignore the fact that 40,000 iron ingots takes up an equal amount of space as 40,000 butterfly wings. (200 slots x stack of 200 of an item).
