I use a 12€ 5 button mouse with a USB cable. You do not need anything else. It's a waste of money.

Weaving is easier for me with light attacks to the right hand and abilities to the left. It just coordinates better. It is easier to get into the rhythm.

Tried the bazillion button panel and that didn't work, but the round 7 button side is my standard now.

I like the look of that 7-button panel. I might have to try one of those out.

Yeah, I found I really needed a solid, non-button part of the mouse to anchor my thumb on. The 12-button side didn't give me any place to grip properly without triggering a button, so the wheel design worked perfectly instead.

Definitely. There has to be a place to hold the mouse so it can be held more firmly, like when it is lifted. I found myself sacrificing side buttons for this purpose. I would just find a comfortable "home" button and assign functionality around it.

For me a bigger issue ended up being the amount of travel between the closest button and the furthest button, so most of the time I am only using half of the buttons on the side, anyway. The Corsair Scimitar is at least adjustable in that respect, when it is working.

    Edit:

For me, the extra mouse buttons allow for reduced hand travel on the keyboard. Things like weapon swap, stealth, horse, and the ever necessary "back out of menus" functionality is tied to the mouse.

I have a Razer Naga 2014, 12 side buttons, and I love it... but I have small hands, small thumbs, it works well for me. I'm also happy with the quality, after more than 8 years of daily use, only one of the buttons stopped responding (one of those behind the mouse wheel, I was using it for "stow weapon").

Any mouse with left/right click and a scroll wheel

Don't buy one of those ones with 200 buttons on the side, unless your gonna use them all, waste of money

My mouse has 2 extra buttons on the side that I use for Weapon Swap and Dodge Roll
This is also my approach lol. I am using old and rather cheap Asus mouse (ROG Sica) that does not even have a dpi button. Only regular buttons & scroll wheel. It is however supposed to last forever as it has user - replaceable switches (no soldering required).

I used to use a mouse that had a lot of additional buttons and dpi switch... but I never used any additional buttons & dpi switch was almost always pressed accidentally causing all sorts of in-game troubles lol.

That's one of the reasons I love the Corsair Scimitar -- I changed the DPI button to "Sprint" and the other top button to "Inventory" :)

I have a Scimitar and really want to like it - for the most part it feels great, but the problem is that when I'm _not_ using a side button, there's no place for my thumb. So I switched to a UtechSmart, which I don't like as much aesthetically but it has this little lip below the side buttons where my thumb can hang out when it doesn't need to click anything. I find it makes it easier to control the mouse as well.

I still use a Razer Naga Trinity, it works great for me.

Another vote for the Naga Trinity from here! Personally I use the 7-button panel so that I have all attacks and the bar-swap in the panel, the other things I control with a keyboard. The multiple panels enable almost any preference, however. The mouse certainly has been worth the price.

Razer naga trinity, 7 button module is by far the best. I went through half a dozen of the best mice and nothing felt as natural or ergonomic. Plus it has the perfect amount of buttons for skills/ultimate

i've had three Razer Naga mice and all of them eventually broke in the same place. I liked the Razer software though, was very easy to map buttons to what i wanted. I have a Corsair mouse now and while it has lasted longer than the Razer mice, the software is a pain in the butt, it occasionally resets all my settings back to default, refuses to open a lot and remapping mouse buttons four and five is more complicated than it should be

If iCUE fails to open, this could be due to it getting hung trying to talk to some Corsair hardware not reporting properly. Try unplugging and plugging back in Corsair devices until it wakes up. Once found, it might be worth it to isolate that device into an easy-to-access USB port to facilitate fixing the problem, as this can come up at any time after the PC is powered on.

i know, am pretty sure it's the mouse at this point as whenever iCUE does decide to open I generally have to unplug and replug mouse to make it realise it's there. There's been a couple of times where I've had to reinstall iCUE. I have my mouse and keyboard plugged into easy access ports anyway due to a problem with the computer not liking them plugged in during startup. I don't know the exact problem but just unplugging the mouse, keyboard + any other usb devices in those 4 slots on top of the computer before turning on is easier and cheaper than paying someone to fix whatever it is

Daily unplugging and plugging here was what kept my Scimitar mouse going. Different physical mouse (warranty replacement) and different iCUE versions. I think it is a design fault in the mouse. Another mouse brand is the answer.

Found a cool Elderscrolls mouse. I'm sure this one is the best.

So about gaming mouse. I like the RAZER DeathADDER brand. I recommend that for all online games since it has many options.

If you like to enjoy playin with an marketingnamed "mmo-mouse", there a lot on the market right now. Personaly i would prefer G502 or Kone for taller hands. With three extra buttons you can fully control the movement, while fingers from the other hand just need to push skills or keys for map, inventar etc. Easy gaming...

I cast another vote for the Naga Trinity with the 7 button panel. I’ve tried a lot of mouses over the years and I keep coming back to Naga.

But I’ll also echo those who’ve recommended the G502. A really solid and underrated gaming mouse.

I have a Razer Basilisk and I hate it. The scroll wheel never works, just jumps around and I never get anywhere, although I just now noticed that if I tilt it left or right it does what it should do when I scroll (!). Their software is also terrible and glitches my system up. I have to use an old legacy version of Synapse so I can't utilize the more advanced colour features. I would never buy another Razer mouse (or keyboard, or anything that uses software).

What do people think of the Aerox? I really liked the feel of it in the store.
