On the PS5. I could've specified that, yes.

I have old searches listed I can't get rid of. I delete them and next time they're back. I think it has an old snapshot of everything it won't overwrite it.
It's not just trader searches effected either. Crafting stations won't remember settings like "known styles" or "quests only" and outfit stations won't remember the order for the dyes. I'm sure there's more too but can't think of what!

How do you delete those? I must be missing something obvious?

Go into recent searches in a trader, hover over the one you want to get rid of and press R3. Not sure what it's called on other controllers but it's the right stick button

On the PS5 any and all searches you enter in guild traders is only stored for the duration of the session you're logged into, so it'll stick when you travel to a different zone or do a dungeon. Every time you log off, however, it resets to "Your recent searches will display here [...]" - as if you created your first character today.
It is indeed a pain in the khajit, ever since High Isle dropped in June 2022. They only briefly un-ignored it in November to post this entirely useless message.

Tbh I thought that was just normal. I only recently got back into the game so search history stuff is new to me.
Still it is no damn issue simply because PS5/4 has predictive text, you press R1 on.
Live for example, I am looking for dead-water's guile weapons, in traders it needs to be typed just like that with the punctuation, then on PS5 I type dead and the entire dead-water's prediction comes up, then guile after, press R1 twice.
idk what you are complaining about tbh!
What is annoying though is every time I log in my crafting ticks of "known item" and "quest only" are reset, so seeing I do 10 chars writs per day, it can get annoying.

I got it right away, except I always thought it was "Celebration time, come on!" So I learned something!

@SeaGtGruff
It is "come on" the user is spelling it the way it sounds to them when sung.

@spartaxoxo
I think the other user was referring to "Celebrate good times", as opposed to the previously assumed "Celebration times" - rather than my onomatopoeic shenanigans.
Lemme clarify then...
Besides the default text input-method being only marginally better than T9 was on a Nokia, let's say most people search for more items than only a specific Dead-Water's Guile weapon:
Sticking to gear alone, there's 8 types of apparel, 2 types of jewelry and 12 types of weapons - all with 11 traits. There's 170 sets that can be traded through guild traders (BoE).
That makes ((8+2+12) * 11) * 170) = 41.140 gear-pieces I can look for - disregarding quality.
There's 98 Motif books with 14 pages. 1.372 more searches. I'll spare you potions, foods, drinks, all different types of companion gear or the five trillion furnishing plans - you get the point. I hope.
Besides that; it's simply a functionality that should be available, and has been bugged for nearly an entire year. In my opinion not fixing a bug for - give or take - ALMOST A FULL YEAR, justifies some complaining.
