Creeping up slowly on the High Isle One-Year-Birthday, I was wondering; is there going to be a special memento for managing to keep the guild traders' Search History bugged for an entire year with seemingly no prospect in sight of it ever getting fixed...?
Perchance a display of all the time I've wasted typing the same exact things after every relog, portrayed by my character smashing their head into a keyboard for a couple hours straight?
Let us rejoice in celebration!

Yes there will be a memento but it will be purchasable from the Crown store.

What is the bug with the guild traders' history? What history you're referring to? I just went to a guild trader to see whether anything was obviously bugged, and my search history is displayed just as expected. Where else should I be looking?

On the PS5. I could've specified that, yes.

Thank you for clarifying. Are you saying that when you visit multiple guild traders to shop around for specific items, you are having to reenter the names of the items you're looking for each time? That would definitely be a pain.

On the PS5 any and all searches you enter in guild traders is only stored for the duration of the session you're logged into, so it'll stick when you travel to a different zone or do a dungeon. Every time you log off, however, it resets to "Your recent searches will display here [...]" - as if you created your first character today.

It is indeed a pain in the khajit, ever since High Isle dropped in June 2022. They only briefly un-ignored it in November to post this entirely useless message.

Is this only on PS or perhaps XBox? I guess I thought it was all platforms.

Old search history is saved but anything new is deleted upon logout.

I have old searches listed I can't get rid of. I delete them and next time they're back. I think it has an old snapshot of everything it won't overwrite it.

It's not just trader searches effected either. Crafting stations won't remember settings like "known styles" or "quests only" and outfit stations won't remember the order for the dyes. I'm sure there's more too but can't think of what!

Go into recent searches in a trader, hover over the one you want to get rid of and press R3. Not sure what it's called on other controllers but it's the right stick button :)

I'm on PC, but at least that gives me a direction to try, thanks so much!

[ETA: truly a "duh" moment, yes. There's another option at the bottom of the screen next to "Start Search" - "Reset Search". Which changes to "Delete Recent Search" when you hover over a searched item in the Recent Searches box. I simply had never noticed that change before - for years now.... Thanks again!]

Tbh I thought that was just normal. I only recently got back into the game so search history stuff is new to me.
Still it is no damn issue simply because PS5/4 has predictive text, you press R1 on.
Live for example, I am looking for dead-water's guile weapons, in traders it needs to be typed just like that with the punctuation, then on PS5 I type dead and the entire dead-water's prediction comes up, then guile after, press R1 twice.

idk what you are complaining about tbh!

What is annoying though is every time I log in my crafting ticks of "known item" and "quest only" are reset, so seeing I do 10 chars writs per day, it can get annoying.

Auto fill definitely helps but not all trader searches use text search. Searching for gold mats is a lot of menu options especially with a price range too. I suppose I could just do text searches but I don't think of it and that still wouldn't set price ranges or quality. You also can't search for things like traits so would have to set a menu option for that.

    Lemme clarify then...

Besides the default text input-method being only marginally better than T9 was on a Nokia, let's say most people search for more items than only a specific Dead-Water's Guile weapon:
Sticking to gear alone, there's 8 types of apparel, 2 types of jewelry and 12 types of weapons - all with 11 traits. There's 170 sets that can be traded through guild traders (BoE).
    That makes ((8+2+12) * 11) * 170) = 41.140 gear-pieces I can look for - disregarding quality.
There's 98 Motif books with 14 pages. 1.372 more searches. I'll spare you potions, foods, drinks, all different types of companion gear or the five trillion furnishing plans - you get the point. I hope.

Besides that; it's simply a functionality that should be available, and has been bugged for nearly an entire year. In my opinion not fixing a bug for - give or take - ALMOST A FULL YEAR, justifies some complaining.

We are complaining because the guild traders search used to update when you did new searches and let you delete old searches if you wished.

    Now it does neither.

I think the other user was referring to "Celebrate good times", as opposed to the previously assumed "Celebration times" - rather than my onomatopoeic shenanigans.

This is a very frustrating bug to be happening for so long... I hope they will fix it, OP. As well, as the BG leaderboard scores, and since we are at it, also the fact that in the gamapd UI on PC, new items in the inventory are no longer marked by an arrow next to their category (ie., when you dropped a chest piece for example, there used to be a mark next to the 'chest' category in the inventory, but it hasn't been the case for months now, making it extremely frustrating when you quickly want to find what you looted or link it to your group, etc.). I hope @ZOS_Kevin is reading and let us know if the devs are aware and working on these bugs.

Map filters aren't remembered either. It seems to be pretty much every setting changed in-game rather than through options in the main menu.

If I remember right, the options menu saves in a local save file and in-game settings are supposed to save online with our game progress so I would guess it's just not going to either any more
