Daedric Protection & Expert Summoner

Suggestion to change these Sorc passives to be more meaningful:

Daedric Protection passive changed from health recovery to magic recovery.
Expert Summoner passive changed to either require ability slotted or just give us the health boost.

Health recovery is not META in PvE (I don't see the change destroying a health recovery tank build anyway) and in PvP battle spirit makes it very niche or non existent. The health boost of Expert Summoner should not be restricted to pet users as using other summoning abilities just sends your health up and down as they expire. I think these improvements would be satisfying to both PvE and PvP communities, as well as casual to end game players.

At the very least, health recovery is not very beneficial and could be almost any other buff and be better for all Sorcs.

Or we could upgrade Rebate, because that passive does sooooo much *sarcasm implied*

And I could be wrong, but having bound aegis/armaments slotted might count as being "active" because of the passive effects on those skills. I'd have to check tho.

I agree on that health recovery point though. The only reason you could argue no for mag recovery, is because of the Capacitor passive in Storm Calling. One would make the other redundant
Add a Scribing skill that works like Arcanist beam.
    ---
Veteran players have been alienated and disengaged from Overland since One Tamriel, due to the lack of difficulty, and pushed into dungeons and trials; the minority of content in the Elder Scrolls Online. We can't take the repetition anymore, fix Overland engagement for Vet players. I don't even care if it's not combat related anymore, just make Overland engaging again.
    ---
Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 10 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. Make a self debuff mythic. Literally anything at this point.

They could change encase as well to be something way more interesting and useful, I don't see that skill pretty much ever used.

Actually, in group play the Restraining Prison morph is a very strong ability as an unlimited target AOE root, that also grants you Major Vitality - one of the few buffs that Sorc actually has access to. Especially when comboed with Streak. I'm not sure why it gets overlooked (other than the extremely limited bar space that we're saddled with). But for keep defenses, it's really high up there on the list of must bring skills IMO.

I'd go much further with the daedric protection. It's a relic of a much older ESO and as such needs an update.

Make it grant all 3 recoveries at +15% for having a daedric summoning ability slotted.
(NB gets all 3 at +15% for simply existing (don't even have to slot anything), so +15% to all for slotting an ability would be completely fine).
Then I would remake capacitor into a new passive that buffs crit damage for a duration when dealing damage with a storm calling ability.

All of them are good ideas. We need to keep pressing them to buff our lacking areas. I doubt they will change them to a suggestion on the forums. But the fact we are complaining about it means they can buff it as they see it. Hopefully with a little bit inspiration from us

I don't know why they refuse to take suggestions from the forums. Yes some can be pure nonsense that would break the class, but there have been many good and balanced ideas that would work so well.

Daedric protection health recovery is nice- it is useful for certain sorc tank builds. this extra Health Recovery is useful wherever Troll King is recommended.

Sorcs get Capacitor for magicka recovery, which is 10% and is likely an intentional amount to limit the power of the class. You'll notice that the stam recovery is higher than mag recovery from this class, but you'll also notice that most sorc class abilities cost magicka. Power in stam recovery shifts over to weapon/guild skill lines, in part, due to this (in comparison to other classes).

Asking to buff Capacitor might be more apropos, but then again you don't even need to slot an ability to activate this so it's pretty good (not as good as NB's passive, but still good). telling them to nerf health recovery in exchange for more mag recovery isn't likely to pass- they've never removed an aspect of a passive or ability because it's "useless" to someone's style of gameplay.

As for your proposed Expert Summoner change, again I'm going to have to pass. Bound Armaments/Aegis are both passives that do the same exact thing by virtue of being slotted. While one might not "need" the extra 8% hp, it can allow people to shift their CP into other areas, or use different food for certain encounters. People who are going to find it most useful are probably tanks anyways. If anything, it should be nerfed to only being active when a pet is alive to be consistent with the necro's wraith ability, then again it makes sense to have more HP when armaments/aegis or ward is active. It's too much to remove it from Curse TBH, so even with my proposed "maybe," it's fine where it is and i wouldn't advocate touching it at all. recap: I don't think that it should be active just because slotted, or to be given just by virtue of existing.

There's a plethora of other things to discuss when it comes to the sorc's toolkit, but removing one of the few things that make them appealing to tank vs other classes in favor of locking them into being more powerful as DPS is not it.

Ya I've had big gripes with both of these. Nice post!
