DK burning/poison continue to outperform most proc sets and most class dots... dont you think something should be done about this considering how the game has aimed at reducing the power of dots in terms of DPS? How has this remained unaddressed that you have a class passive that basically allows the secondary "status effects" of the DK class to outperform entire proc sets or ability slots?

DK seems fine IMO, with some fun skills and class identity. If anything other classes should take a lesson from DK design.

To be fair, this was done recently when Wardens were given a massive buff to the chilled status effect. That was a great change and I'd love to see more like it. Why not incentivize Sorcerers to use Shock glyphs and proc Concussion? Or give Templar a large bonus to Overcharged (Mag damage status effect), it would have nice synergy with the Absorb Magicka glyph on the class with the worst sustain. Maybe Nightblade could get a bonus to Sundered, and Necro to Diseased.

All of these would go a long way toward making classes balanced, but all distinct. It's boring when every class runs Flame/Poison enchants on their daggers with berserker back bar.

more than anything i want to see the current PVE meta become a "basic" build and every class have options to specialise or take advantage of, even if it's in little ways like everyone runs Blood Thirsty except medium armour sorcs who run infused. Little things like that.

DoT power isn't just outright less powerful, they're just slower.
The Whole point of U35 was to make DoTs deal an average of 2x a spammable rather than 1.5x, which is a 33% buff in raw damage done. However, the timers were greatly extended, leading that power being reached more slowly. So DoTs are actually more powerful for parses (which is why so many classes are hitting high 120s or 130s at peak), but harder to maange and far worse for shorter fights
