The fact that all of my other characters have leads thrown at them from all sorts for sources, including fishing, opening chests, crates & thieves lock boxes, even daily crafting writs is a pure anoyance. If they don't have the antiquity skills why give the leads? It's so frustating.

Agree, that adds extra levels of RND; first getting the map then the low chance its the relevant zone and finally that you get the lead. From an boss or dungeon its just one layer.i do like antiquities, but i don't like the motif leads dropping from treasure maps system. i just posted about that specific system. antiquities in general though are quite cool, even leads that don't drop easily from some very specific monsters. the lead from the watchers or the mini-watchers...that was tedious, but satisfying enough when it dropped
I've disliked the antiquities system since inception. It's tedious, takes forever to grind out the skills, and as someone who has zero interest in housing it has no appeal to me what so ever.
Antiquities is a major distraction from the things that make/made ESO great; a great combat system. ESO would do a lot better if they focused on improving and maintaining the combat system vs. working on tedious mini games.
I enjoy antiquities a lot, it's probably my favourite chapter feature.
That said they need to tone the grind down. Those Ancient Daedra motifs and whatnot are hell to grind. So I just don't bother doing them.
Mythic items like Oakensoul should also be more readily attainable as I think Oakensoul in particular is a godsend to players who don't find weapon swapping to be a fun mechanic like me.
