Let us import Controls from one character to another

I just rolled a new character and setting her up is way more complicated than it needs to be. There are so many controls that it's impossible to remember all the changes made on previous characters. Please allow us to import controls, and other settings too, from one character to another.

I doubt this will happen, they even are unable to manage more than 100 keybinds 🤣...

But for now this is the best you can get: https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1174-VotansKeybinder.html

    I don't know why they couldn't.

Yes, couldn’t agree more. Having access to all of the settings in the main character select screen, would help to template new characters.

I get that people want different settings for each character, and that would be the counter-argument to this idea, and I want to clarify, I also am in agreement that it is important to keep each character unique.

Having a master settings, that affects new characters would be a great QoL feature to help us not have to waste time going over every setting, every time we make a new character.

    Delete.
Didn't look hard enough to see someone posted the addon. I had to download it after my 3rd character.

Yes, as in clone or replicate settings, many mods has this.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Then they wouldn't have to use the import feature. It's only for those of us who don't feel the need to have separate key bindings for every character.

    I agree.

One of the first addons I downloaded was Binder, which let me save and copy keybindings. That and Synced Account Settings (which saves and copies other settings) made setting up a new character a much nicer experience. Previously I'd had to spend about 10 minutes standing in a jail cell re-doing everything I'd set up on my other characters, once I had those two addons installed I could just start playing.

It's the same when I change a keybinding, previously if I decided I wanted something different I had to work my way through all my characters changing the same setting on each one. Now I can just do it once.

I know some people want different keybindings or settings on each character, and it's nice that they have that option, but I've never felt the need to change them and having to manually re-do them all to be the same is annoying.

Also even those that want individual keybinds will share the most settings identically between all characters.

So the default should be shared / global settings with the possibility to activate customized settings for specific (for example on key basis).

    I don't know why they couldn't.

They could, but things like this tend to not be priorities. We should be able to say "make this character like another one" at any point, in the game, not with an addon.

Very true as well. I would rather have the settings the same for all my characters, though I am about done making new alts.

In all honesty, this feature should have been there from the start.
IMO, one way to implement this without straining ESO's database is to have it all happen on our end.
If I really like the look of one of my characters, then I can export those slider settings to the game's folder on my PC.
This way, I can at a later date re-import them when creating a new character.
Of course, this all assumes character slider controls data is harmless and can't be used for malicious purpose.

Additionally, It would be great if the above feature allowed export mid-way through character creation. This is especially handy, imo, in those situations where rl stuff happens that I just can't put off.
Having taken care of the interruption, I can then just launch ESO, re-import and continue where I left off.

    EDIT
Please disregard all the above, as per Danikat's post below.

    I don't know why they couldn't.

Most of your "controls" are set by add ons is why it won't happen. Now I agree the default buttons should go character to character, but so much of the game isn't controlled by ZoS really.

    Addons don't run on consoles.

Also, why can't things addons do be in the core game?

Yes this IS annoying. I have made 70+ chars so I feel your pain lol. Imo they should have included this with the AWA update - remove saving different settings for each and every char. Just use the exact same ones for EVERY char already.
