Is DK even still the DOT class? I hear Necro has good DOTs / passives, but I don't play it. As far as I can see DK only has one good DOT left, Venomous Claw, and that takes a long time to ramp up. I recently tested on a dummy. The only things that seemed worthwhile (as a DOT) were Claw, maybe the other morph for the guaranteed Burning status effect, but above all Rending Slashes. Haemorrhaging is damn strong and Stinging Slashes really elevates that DOT. In PvP I feel you're more likely to be pressured by (a stamsorc using) that, because a single application is good for two (to three) regular DOTs (that don't have status effects). As a nightblade that skill is open to you.
Is this for PvP? I agree that 2H / Bow is probably the most meta thing to run on a stamblade, although Shrewd Offering makes Rally less important than it used to be. The Blackrose bow can yield a nasty DOT, particularly with Magnum Shot rather than Draining Shot, which makes it stronger and should make it last longer.Manslayer49 wrote: »Is DK even still the DOT class? those skills you mentioned are exclusive to duel weild and i only use two hander. carve dot also sucks.

To use Dual Wield, one option would be to back bar 2H, perhaps use RAT for speed, and maybe back bar a Vateshran 2H. The Vateshran proc carries over to the front bar.

Aside from balance the main problem with spell crafting is the inner workings of the UI: when we push a button, the server gets told we just used ability #1EE7 on our target, and then runs the pre-set effects of that ability. Can you imagine the lag when the server hasn't just to worry about our current stats and the target's defenses, but also has to determine what we actually want that ability to do?
The most we could hope for is a new skill tree with a bunch of spells (single target, st-dot, aoe, aoe-dot and caster-centered aura) where we can determine the elemental type via morphs.
