✭There are three leads in Galen treasure maps?!?! [snip], Zos? I've spent over a mil on the maps, I get the music box lead, there's a shoulder piece lead I also have to worry about??

✭✭As someone who has gathered every lead in game before Galen, and currently working on Galen, lead drops are mostly fine. The only one I think needs to change is the S. Elsweyr lead in the psijic portals because psijic portal spawn rates are weird. Should be chests too, or stick with the node theme and extend to enchanting nodes with a lower drop chance from those types.
The psijic portals aren't the problem. The real problem is that nobody is harvesting the rune nodes which means there's no chance for a psijic portal to spawn. I grabbed 2 buddies and we farmed the zone together, grabbing every rune node in sight, and all 3 of us ended up getting that lead pretty quickly.

Oh yeah, that is definitely the problem, the shared node spawn. You end up with the person rotating just ahead of you, scooping up all of the psijic portals before you get there, and leaving all of the runes. It's why it is the only one I would change on the way it drops.1 -

there are only 2 leads in treasure maps in galen (eldertide shoulders style, and the 10th pc of the skin)
the music box lead comes from normal chests in galen

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

there are only 2 leads in treasure maps in galen (eldertide shoulders style, and the 10th pc of the skin)

It dropped from my Galen treasure map though...So either they coded it wrong or it drops from any chest, which is a terrible way to do it if we already have two leads in there.

This is absolutely a large part of the problem. It's designed to drop from what are basically elite nodes and those nodes won't spawn unless the more common versions are plucked in order to allow the respawns to occur. This sort of sourcing rewards cherry pickers and in a way punishes those that farm the enchant nodes by comparison. It's a horrible design in my opinion. It encourages behavior that cannibalizes itself. If nobody farms the enchant nodes, everyone runs around finding nothing, but as soon as someone starts farming those enchant nodes, they personally aren't rewarded as the respawns go to the cherry pickers.3 -

✭✭I'm not in a hurry so I wait until the inevitable nerf before I try actively grinding the new shiny if I still want it. I also tend to play out of prime time. I did not have any crowding trouble with Oakensoul leads and even nerfed it still appears to help with my sausage fingers on casual build. (I still need to try make a proper build some year.)0 -

endgamesmug✭✭✭✭Moras whisper watchling grind put me off that type of activity=all day everyday for a month. So i just stopped and did whatever, felt like farming the atoll end boss for a motif recently, killed some portal spawns at the beginning and hey presto done!😆0
