Clearly should have used petrify or dark talons to even the odds. That'll show those siege jockeys!

People that add siege to melee fights are the worst though. I understand if it was at a keep, but in a field away from an objective? Ugh.

I can't think of a situation where it would be advantageous to use a siege weapon in open field instead of your skills, unless you use it as a debuff against ball groups.

u can roll dodge every siedge weapon tick, so maybe use ur hotkeys

edit: also the damage is a little strange, you got 5 ticks with over 10k damage per tick, if i remember correctly cold harbor does something around 7.5k damage, which means you still got debuffed somehow

There are things you can wear that buff siege damage vs players, but not structures.

Certain siege weapons are extremely effective against stationary troll tanks, and are a good way to get them moving. They are also an effective means of getting ball groups out of resource towers, as they will usually stop farming inside and come try to neutralize you.

that is true, but there will probably never be a situation where ball groups complain about siege weapons in the open field, because then they would make complete fools of themselves.

They'd just do what troll tanks do when complaining about it with the old "a friend" trick

Next thing you know, when it's uncool to use something like siege; you go to a trope of "it's not mine, I'm using someone else's"

By the way in U36 it do not block - was it intended or bug ?

The most classes have good class purges, or are very mobile like sorc, templar, warden and necr easely can remove it.

The most problem with this now have only DK ... .

Well, the problem is likely game bugs, not the seige. Blocking, which could be the defensive choice of your tanky DK friend, is broken in certain ways right now.

There was one patch when all siege was doing twice the damage it normally dealt and it was the most fun I had in years.
People were making encampments on hills and milegates with ballistas and catapults, so did attackers, everybody used Siege Shields. No more resource tower huggers (one unlucky ballista hit and you were basically done), zergs and ball groups were spreading out so you could fight them one by one, lancers were actually useful. Entire Cyro felt like actual war.

Frankly siege weaponry should be very high damage. It's literally a weapon that fires a bolt the size of a person or a huge boulder and it gives you an aoe showing where it's going to hit. If you don't get out of it that's on you.
