Cannot get access code via email login screen

Any reason why I cannot get access code? It is usual security check connecting from new computer. I have my email address correct, double checked even added the official mail address to safe sender. I checked the junk folder, did not work, no Steam, desktop launcher.

Any ideas?

    PLEASE DON'T CLOSE THIS THREAD!

This is a common problem that I've heard about, and is preventing people from accessing their accounts (buying Crowns, buying ESO+, etc), and I even have some friends who have not been able to access the game at all.

I'm trying to get on my account as well, and it's not letting me in. My game is fine (for now), I can log in to the support home, but I can't get to the account page.

It seems the "authorize your account" email is rarely if ever being sent out. This NEEDS to be seen by support!

    Agreed, don’t close this thread!
I’ve been locked out of my account maintenance for two days and their suggestions have done nothing to help. I can log in and play the game fine. I just can’t go online and renew my ESO plus.
I’ve been playing since beta and never had this bs happen.

One thing I've discovered is that if you have your game account email forwarded, sometimes it totally fails to show up. For instance, yesterday I wanted to access my new account to change the password, and of course I got the "send me a code" thing. Since the code is only good for fifteen minutes, I kept checking for about 9 minutes, and then I opened that gmail account - which is forwarded to my main gmail addy - and yes, the code email was there, but NOT being forwarded.

So I opened it on screen, copied the code and hurried back to the login page to input it. I don't know if I'm the only person around who forwards several other emails to my main personal one, but if any of you do that, you might want to consider checking the mail server for your game email.

I finally got into my account maintenance on the site, but it did take a lot of spamming "request code" and retrying until one of the emails finally got sent. And as expected, that email showed up within a minute of requesting the code.

It seems like there's only like a 5% success rate of the authorization email actually sending.

Believe me, it's worked for ages otherwise. It's not gone to junk, it's not forwarding, it's not doing anything weird. The email just literally is not sending. Until the one time it did.

At times I was using email as 2nd authentication method for GW/GW2 account, regularly (almost always in fact), the email was so much delayed that I couldn't play.
I had so enough of that, that I swapped to google authenticator. It's trouble free (code generation is continuous). But I don't know if it's an authenticator used by ESO?

Wow, it seems many people having this issue, I never thought I am experienced a problem that same as many people, good to know I'm not the only one! What I did is basically spam thru request code in login screen after canceling 24 hours remaining to ask another code thing, you can request another email/code by canceling the countdown and it works every time, thats what I did. I got it after 3rd time.

I played GW2 as well for years but when devs there decided to destroy the economy and forcing new people to play with trading post, it was end of the line to me, uninstalled, forgetten and buried.

What I can also discovered that if you used too many certain/complex and non English characters, symbols in your game password (not the forum password) game will say invalid password and you cannot get in.

I hope they do not close this thread,

Last time this borked for me i was going straight to the store and logging in that way, i swapped to the general account log in then was sent a code, and so long as i didn't close my browser i was fine. I think my issue is the cookie blockers that i use in Firefox.

I have been going through this circus for about a week now, having multiple accounts.

Base problem is why is the game suddenly not recognizing devices or IPs? Mine has not changed and it is not a new computer. A code will get me into the account for a day or so, then it will say I need another one.

Some accounts I never get a code at all. These seem to be ones that have a hotmail account attached to it, and are accounts I've had for years with no issue. In one case I resorted to making a new email account and having them change it on the account through a support ticket and that worked. Now I am facing the same issue with the other one.

I don't use Firefox, and nothing is being blocked, the emails all work fine.

What's really funny - or not - is that support ticket responses seem to come through just fine on the email. Just no access codes.

There is a thread for this under the tech support section as well.

I wouldn't call not being able to log into your account something that needs 'general help'.
I'd say it needs support to find out why we are constantly being told we need access codes and then often not getting them.
    Just my opinion though.
