Feedback Survey

Maybe everyone wasn't meant to fill this out? Maybe that is why it was taken down?

I was thinking about this too but if that was the case I'm guessing I would have gotten a moderator comment here, also it was obvious that content creators would share it and talk about it.

Another possibility is that they got the amount of data that they were looking for.

Precisely why I didn't post a link to it in my thread when I asked if anyone else had recieved the survey. Since it was sent via email, I assumed it wasn't necessarily something that was being sent to everyone, for whatever reason.

Maybe the survey went out by mistake, whatever. But I got no email. I've been playing since launch and would have liked to provide my own feedback in a way that will at least contribute to some numbers on a spreadsheet that'll get looked at, since a lot of feedback here on the forums and elsewhere goes unread/ignored.

If we believe any forums and players about dying games, ALL of them are dying on their very first day.....

No the game is not dying. : :p

Heck I remember playing Runescape 20 years ago and only a few years later people were saying the game is dying, hello, look where we are now, 17 years later - it's still going and has more players than this game even.

Summary, don't listen to "the game is dying" nonsense, it's mostly just jaded players mad the game is not what they want it to be.

Honestly, part of my intent in typing this was for this response. It was calculated.

The game is legitimately falling apart. So many easy fixes can be implemented, but these devs and creator directors are here for a job. That much is clear. This game needs more love

The survey closed rather quickly. I guess we just wait and see what happens now.

If ZOS wanted this survey limited to a number of players, then they would have it locked behind a password or user ID like most surveys? Surely they'd know people would share it.

This does also raise the question as to why certain people received the email. Perhaps people who play the most get it?

Considering I got it, and given the questions involved my guess was the opposite: it was directed at people who bought High Isle and/or log in frequently but don't play much. Recently I've pretty much only been doing endeavours (and not all 3 or every day) and the odd quest. In my case it's nothing to do with the game and everything to do with the amount of other stuff I've got going on, but I can see how from ZOS perspective it would look like I'm losing interest. (Years ago I got a survey where the email actually said it was sent because I hadn't logged in for weeks and they wanted to know why, I also once got one after cancelling ESO+ which was funny to me because I'd signed up and cancelled the renewal on the same day.)

But there's a lot of possible reasons why only certain people go it. Part of my job is to gather feedback from people involved in my work and even with just a few thousand people involved it's very rare that we ask everyone because the more people you include the more time it takes to manage the responses and collate the data and after a certain point it's not going to make a big difference to the outcome. It's usually more effective to select a sub-set of people (either randomly or based on specific criteria) than try to include everyone.

Given that it's also possible they set the survey to close after a certain number of responses, or deliberately ran it for a short time so they could act on the feedback more quickly (which could include sending out follow-up surveys with different questions) or building something to try on the PTS.

Your comment made me realize I received the survey on my alt account. That account has High Isle, but I've barely touched it.
That account no longer has ESO+, and I haven't logged in to it very often lately.

That may just be coincidence, though, since not many others who received the survey in their emails have chimed in about their playing habits.

didn't get the survey and I have over 2000 hours played.

I suspect that was the intention but then they messed up and forgot to restrict access to it, or something.
Which would also explain why it was taken down without fanfare even for players who were deliberately contacted.

Didn't get the email and the survey is closed. I've played as much or more than probably just about anyone and have spent quite a bit of money on the game. I've always felt that my opinion doesn't matter based on what's happened with the game over time (and mostly what hasn't). Also most posts here on the forum seem like they're ignored and very few get replies. Many times when there are replies it's to say "Sorry we're not allowed to say anything more at this time."

Hard to say but I guess it was just random.

Both my accounts got it, my main which has ESO+, High Isle and way too many hours spent in it - but also my second one which I only use for under 50 pvp, has no extras and not many hours in.

Yes if you have a selected sample and someone then posts the survey publicly on the internet that rather destroys the purpose (and value) of surveying a chosen sample of players.
