Yeah but that feels weird to me. Casting magic while using weapons just feels wrong. I know its BiS if you use front bar daggers and back bar destruction staff thoughclasses in ESO are only a soft suggestion, you can make a character that is melee and uses magic.
I prefer the "warrior" ethic. I've never really been a fan of mages in ESO, from the get-go. So, I have some "mage types" - but my stam characters are my go to people.
This isn't just in ESO - it's my entire life with TES single player games as well - all of them, beginning with Arena's release in 1994.
Alternatively, in the Forgotten Realms games, mages were my go-to there.
Play a Dragonknight and then you get a Warrior Wizard. Magic powers, all melee, class is designed around around CQC engagements, and it feels fun to play!

Dragonknight has been my go to class since day 1 but I stopped playing it as a hybrid because of the drake fury audio glitch. But fire and earth are ideal for magic warriors you're right

I don't play DK as a hybrid even though that seems to be the meta... Think the only hybrid thing I did was change my jewelry glyph and mundus stone to weapon damage to take advantage of the minor brutality, but otherwise I'm still 100% a magDK. I love brawling in wizard robes/a nice dress while casting spells all over the place hehehe.
Makes me feel like I'm playing my Breton Spellsword in Oblivion where I'd enchant a dress to hit the armor cap to avoid repairing my gear, used a sword and shield, and then used destruction and alteration magic as my primary go to. Vampire works well to with DK in ESO since it's mostly melee focused, and the stage 4 passive kinda turns you into a pseudo nightblade at times <.<
Play what you want man. Not sure what kinda content you prefer doing but you can do a-okay as a warrior. I recommend stamdk or stamsorc but even that's probably not super important.
I will say you'll probably want to include SOME other skills... Curse, streak, noxious breath fossilize whatever, some are too good to give up. But it only breaks immersion if you let it. I spent many years pvping people into the ground with a d-swinging Dk. It might not be the flavor of this month but its still alright.
