Mirri vs the rest

Mirri is still my favourite. It's this kind of person, who will make sarcastic comments about everything, but always has your back. I just love that. A true friend you can always count on.
Second favourite - Isobel. I was afraid she will be boring or female version of Bastian but no. I guess you can't go wrong with Laura Bailey
Ember - well, I'm kind of dissapointed of her, was expecting something different. While I understand why people like her it's just not my cup of tea. She's too childish for my taste.
Bastian - hate him. Period. Love and magic... City noise calms me... Oh, I'm so good person... Truly good person never speaks like that.

He doesn't literally call himself 'a good person' (it's no where in his dialogue) only that he aspires to do good and be helpful to people. He believes in basic curtesy and kindness, something that many people practice in the real world, and to take that as boasting takes a certain degree of cynicism. Some people are just genuinely kind hearted and Bastian is that sort of character - there's no ulterior motive there.

I like Mirri, but I really wish they would add better companions, ones that don't mind you getting up to not-so-good things haha (The whole killing/Dark Brotherhood) Maybe a Vampire companion or an assassin would be amazing ♥
Another cool thing they could do is let you companion Npc's from the game, Nayru/Razum-Dar/Gwendis/Evili Sharp Arrow
ect that would be amazing! ♥

Ember is pretty morally fluid. Mirri doesn't care if you kill people either. She doesn't gain rapport but she doesn't lose it either. there will always be give and take. My issue is the timers they use. Ember you can't just farm wolves to earn rapport, but every time I cast a line at a fishing hole you lose rapport.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Couldn't have said it any better. On all four.

If you like a companion then simply do so, there's no need make things up about a different companion to put them down because you dislike them.

Out of all the current companions Bastian is still my favourite. :)
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

A couple of days ago I switched back to Mirri after not seeing her for a long time.

I use her as a healer and after levelling every other companion I noticed I had not finished her resto skill line.

I have to say, I got a bit of a shock... after spending so much time with Isobel and Ember (they are both terrific), I was taken aback by how brusque Mirri actually is. Even when you talk to her in your home and she just responds: What!!

I was never a mega Mirri fan but I did enjoy some of her comments, such as: all right, but don't cry for mummy (I love this!).

She is so passive agressive... even Bastian is better to spend time with than Mirri!!

P.S. - I have nothing else to do but make this pretty pointless post while waiting for Firesong :)

    For the record.

    I love Mirri a lot.

I was surprised what a huge deal the rapport stuff was to my elf. She expects to support a companion and be fully supported in return. It is unacceptably immersive-breaking to put companions away to do certain things.

My elf is not going to pass by a loot box simply because thieves left it behind. Nor is she going to pass up fishing when she finds a nice fishing hole. Therefore, Bastion, Isobel and Ember are out of consideration. Fortunately, I have an add on that allows me to totally block interaction with torchbugs & butterflies so Mirri never ever has a 'rapport moment'.

My elf actually likes Mirri's comments and finds them fine - including her hint of sarcasm.

What really cemented Mirri's place was the following. While running with Bastion, my elf accidently grabbed a red potion instead of activating a merchant. Bastion yelled at her and she permanently fired Bastion. While running with Mirri a week or so later, she again accidently grabbed a red item by mistake. An NPC attacked her and Mirri instantly defended my elf by killing the NPC. Mirri earned her spot in my elf's heart at that moment and they've been adventuring together since. Gotta have a companion who has your back.

Mirri would be my one and only companion I would use if not for the interaction with torchbugs & butterflies. Console player so no add-on help. Who ever thought this would be a cool/neat interaction should be flogged. God how I wish ZOS would change this.

    Stay safe :)

For the record, Mirri is my least favourite companion. She’s so annoying I haven’t been able to bear having he with me to get levelled. It was probably contributed to because I had her accompany me when companions always stood in the way.
    Ember is sweet and fun.

I use all four companions for different roles, if I could switch between different preset setups I would stick to Mirri and Isobel.

I'm actually really conflicted about Mirri. IRL she would (probably) actually be the sort of person I'd be good friends with. Fun-loving, smart, snarky and independent. And yet... she's limited by her dialogue, so her two snarky lines start to dominate. It's not ideal, and it makes me a little sad that in game I don't really want to be her BFF, like I (probably) would be IRL.

I’m sitting here watching The Dark Knight Rises and suddenly Bruce says, “now you’re just showing off”.

Do you think Bastian saying the same thing is a nod to this?
