So, let me get it straight. So someone like myself, having all xpacks and paid for at least 12 months for ESO+, and to scratch my itch (I want everything be on its place, with steamdeck now I want ESO running under steam) I have to buy the game I already [censored] own again? Is it Skyrim all over again, reselling same [censored] for 20+ times? What is the logic behind this? "We have bunch of loyal customers, let they skyrimm us once again for QoL feature"?

I guess, I'll just cancel my ESO+ for now, gotta save some extra money to buy useless crap I didn't need at first place.

??? I'm on both Steam and PC NA direct and I only bought the game twice because I wanted two accounts.

    What am I missing here?
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

All you need to do is buy the base game through steam. Then link your steam account to your ESO account and you have access to everything you've already bought.

No need to buy everything again in steam.

While I am not on Steam, I know some who made the mistake to purchase their game through Steam and others who have the PC game who I think said they linked their game to Steam. As such, I do not see what the issue is unless there is an actual difference between a Steam-licensed ESO game and one that is not Steam-licensed.

If that is the case, then OP would have their answer as licensing is bound by a legal description, and there could be contract terms between Steam and ESO that require a different legal description for a Steam-licensed ESO vs not. Zenimax nor Steam would say this is the case as they would not throw the other or the contract under the bus.

You would need to purchase the base game on Steam in order to play on that platform. You wouldn't need to re-purchase Chapters or DLC content.
