Nightblade Debilitate (Cripple morph) bug

Currently on live, this morph of Cripple applies minor magickasteal on enemies and during the 10 seconds, the dot of this ability breaks stealth every second it is active on an enemy target. This bug is also present on the PTS but it now gives the overcharged status effect instead of minor magickasteal. My understanding of this bug is that when you cast this ability, it is constantly reapplying minor magickasteal every second which is pulling you out of stealth however I could be wrong. The only way to get around this bug is to used the unmorphed version of this ability which not all players would be happy doing as Debilitate gives a lot of utility, sustain and a decent DoT. This bug would eliminate the element of surprise users would still have left by using shadowy disguise or stealth to sneak up on a target as it ruins their combo by breaking their stealth constantly. ***Please fix before the new update goes live***.

I used the unmorphed version initially to show that the dot was not breaking invisibility. I then morphed it to debilitate to show how the dot is breaking invisibility. Did it on live but the bug is still present as of PTS patch 6.3.4

Not sure they hate them, but they don't always seem to understand the reasons that make or break a skill when those reasons are subtle. Rally versus Rapid Regen / Healing Ward is another example. Rally does not uncloak you and that is one of the reasons stamblades are superior to magblades. It just plays better. <Sigh>

I can agree with that statement. I would say that rapid regen is almost the magicka counterpart of rally. It just makes sense to not remove you from stealth as well. Not a lot of things that they do makes sense tbh. This is why I made this post because it just makes sense for Debilitate to not remove you from stealth with each DoT tick.

I was wondering what kept pulling me out of stealth, not fixed lol

I can confirm this. I can also confirm that pretty much every dot I can apply tends to prevent stealth, forcing me to either constantly hit cloak or accept not being able to be hidden.

Reason rally doesn't decloack you is because its a delayed secondary effect that heals you

Rapid regen is a spamable heal

    Just pointing that out

Looks like this is going to result in a nerf. The reason it's pulling you out is probably because the overcharged status effect = minor pagicka steal + direct damage.

Asking for a "fix" would mean losing the direct damage portion of it which makes up for a quite a bit of dps when you consider it ticks every 2 seconds.

It would be like asking for the new Elemental Susceptibility from pts to only proc the Debuffs instead of dealing damage. Aka a nerf.

Just to give y'all an update. At one point last year after Q1/Q2 update it was working as intended.

Quoted from Blackwoods Release Patch Notes:
Fixed an issue where Status Effects that dealt instantaneous damage would remove the caster from stealth, as well as failing to trigger events such as a target being under the effect of a status effect.

It has since then, not been working as intended since Q3 when they made changes to stealth and invisibility and how it works with dots and such (I went through some older clips when Waking Flames was released to confirm this).

Much like you said @MashmalloMan, it is indeed the overcharged status effect that was pulling you out of stealth. However they have fixed this before and should fix this again. It is still frustrating

Ah interesting. Guess staus effects are an exception then, good to know.

Actually that makes sense, because what if you had a dot dealing Frost damage and it happened to proc Chilled, randomly pulling you out of stealth, that would suck.
