This is the official feedback thread for Tales of Tribute balance changes and the new Patron deck, the Druid King. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
  • What are your overall feelings on the balance changes made to Tales of Tribute?
  • Did you use the new Patron deck, the Druid King? If so…
    • Did you find this new deck fun?
    • Were you able to understand what the new Patron power did?
    • Were the effects of the cards in this deck easily understood?
  • Do you have any other general feedback?

    General feedback:

I honestly liked ToT not having its own musical score, it's fun playing it in different places for different music. Don't know if that's a popular opinion.

I wish, when playing in Taverns (or a place where you can hear a bard play/sing), we could still hear the bard perform. ToT games takes minimum 15-20 minutes and having the same music repeating over and over again while playing is super annoying and tiring for the brain. Being able to hear the bard songs would allow to avoid this exact problem while also not breaking immersion (because, yes, it's weird and immersion breaking when you launch a game next to a bard and the pretty singing/lute playing just stops).

I tried out the new Patron yesterday - and either I misunderstood it or it's not working correctly.
I had paid for the Patron's favor, and it was favoring me - and the hint says if I do a 4 card combo of the new deck's cards, I get a card added to my cool down pile.
So I got to play a 4 card combo of the new deck, but I didn't get the extra card. One of the cards I played was an agent of that deck, so I don't know if that matters.
Like I said, either this is broken - or I'm not understanding how it's supposed to work.

So some of the members in my ToT guild have been doing some PTS testing, here're some of the things that have been shared:

    - A turn 5 win:

    - And an absolutely broken turn resulting from, in their own words: "2 forest wraiths giv[ing] me 4 power for every non-contract card I buy (and any other means of getting cards into my cooldown like psijic toss) + draoife ritecaller and eldertide fenwitch [gave] me 3 gold on the same condition. I literally caused the tavern to cycle with how long that turn was. I bought way too many cards and used psijic to cycle even more to keep generating gold and power."

While it's notable that these games were against NPCs, there are plenty more examples of such instances that we've had in testing and our overall consensus is that some major changes need to happen prior to release of the deck to live. My community is happy with many of the ToT changes coming out (and particularly excited for a new deck!), but the Druid King deck needs pre-release adjustment in a major way.

The Tales of Tribute NPC prologue npc still screams at players who do not own the DLC and is in many central towns. In contrast, Stuga of the Orsinium DLC will not do their dialogue to players who do not own the DLC. The Tales of Tribute prologue character has been placed in many crafting areas and important points of interest and has thus become unavoidable.

This NPC with her overly cheery voice, whose sound is not normalized to be in line with other NPC prologue characters, has resulted in a decrease in QOL for the game, some people even muting it because they dislike the voice so much. Many topics have been made about her on the forums but it seems to be going ignored.

This problem is especially major for crafters with multiple characters.

At the minimum, we need to see her dialogue limited to once per half hour per account, as many people who do daily crafting writs have to listen to her advertisement on each character, sometimes multiple times. Some players on these forums report less enjoyment out of the game and it feeling like a coca-cola advertisement, I personally compare it to jumping the shark... Many other prologue NPCs are avoidable after you leave starting cities, but not this one. She will track your behind down and make sure you hear her message. It is pretty much unprecedented for any prologue NPC to continuously bleed your ears, especially when you don't own the DLC to do the quest.

The TOT prologue is not tastefully done- this is not an isolated opinion and it's more and more seeming to be a fact. While the High Isle prologue is tastefully done- you can interact with Jakarn by some carts if you want to do the quest, or you can simply ignore it, but you don't need to have the expansion to complete the prologue. He isn't in every town advertising for help even though his reason for seeking the player's assistance is greater.

It would be nice if you could move Sorinne to guild trader areas or entrances of towns, maybe even put her next to pack merchants or to mage's guild areas. But at the very least fix her volume to be less startling and limit the amount of times she shouts her message to an individual to a time interval per account, not per character.

(it would be nice if there was a mute option just for prologue npcs, so we don't have to mute all the npcs and get less enjoyment out of the game)

I agree that the druid deck needs toning down; almost every time I've played I've made so many coins that I had problems converting them (unless also using the crow). Not sure if this problem will be as bad against real players, but it makes games against NPCs a total walkover. That said, I love the deck. It brings a whole new flavour to the game.
