I wonder if it is less ominous than an exodus of players and perhaps attributable to the fact that every chapter or DLC adds a new crop of traders.
People have more choices now and the starter zone monopolies just aren’t a thing anymore.
A lot of people left in Update 35. While some of the exodus was loud and vocal, I think the majority just quietly logged out one day and havent come back.
I saw in the stream "we welcomed another 2 million!" or something like that. I dont know what numbers Zos is seeing.... because all I see, everywhere, is less people. How many people have cleared HM end game in the last patch, compared to the "normal" years before? Less than a third. How active are quest places? How long are dungeon queues.
It is no surprise to me at all that the trickle down effect of people leaving means less sales.
Thanks all...sadly I'm in that U35 boat as well...I've found I play far less now then before. Maybe ESO will recover and sales will go back up...maybe not.

Id bet on this playing a role.
There's enough space now that players can visit a bunch of locations to find their items.
TTC gathers up information on where you need to go and boom you head there.
I almost never check the starter zones now...those prices are always too high.
If your items aren't selling then it's because of 1 or 2 things.
1) Less people playing, less people buying things.
2) Your prices are too damned high. This is why I don't bother with guild traders. I get curious of an item's price and go look at trader prices... [snip] That. [Snip].
