Besides your usual crafting materials....not a lot of things sell these days (equipment, recipes,....well...motifs make sense since the market is saturated with them now). Anyone else seeing the same?

To be honest, across all of my trading guilds on PS5 NA, sales seem to be down. Really started around the U35 announcement and has just... been stagnant ever since.

A little worrisome that it's a sign of a much lower player population. Less folks online during peak gaming hours across all guilds and seems less folks buying the exact same kinds of items that used to sell.

I have experienced a drop off in sales in the last few weeks though my guilds trader.

My sales have been about the same, if it is lower it has not been noticeably lower.

The only thing for me that is getting harder to sell is companion gear, but I expected that.

I quit playing shortly after U35 (not due to the update) and just came back a few days ago. I’ve spent 99% of my time in High Isle (I play around 9+ hours a day) since I’ve been back and while there are players running from bosses and vents, zone chat is pretty dead besides players spamming letters for group invites. It just feels… really quiet.

Wonder what will happen when trading guilds (especially the “big”/popular guilds) have a much harder time maintaining their huge kiosk bids.

It got much lower on PC EU too, trying to sell all sorts of stuff, from motifs to food over mats and potions, nothing sells.
My prices are ok and the trader is in Craglorn.

I literally can't keep stuff in my shops. I fill them and log on the next day and they are empty. I sell gold mats, enchantments, and alchemy reagents. Sometimes I sell furniture.

The market completely dropped the last 10 days or so. I usualy fill 50% or so of my slots with all the intricates that drop each day - low value but quick sale and I don't have enough to fill 90 trader slots with top tier stuff so why not?

One of my guilds still has almost 30 intricate items I listed a week ago, but the proper trading guilds have picked up again since the event kicked off.

Even as a mostly-seller, inflation was getting a bit insane, so I am not against a price correction....but it's frustration coz you have to lock in a price and the rug could fall out from under it tomorrow.

I noticed a drop during the undaunted event but it now seems back to normal. Furniture, plans, motifs, pvp gear all seems to be selling at a good rate. I put it down to people building up stocks of motifs and materials during the event so they stopped buying, waiting to see if prices changed.

Also, note when I speak of less sales, I’m not speaking personally (though my own sales are down as well). As a console trading guild GM, I take a look in the guild sales history (anyone can see that in a guild, by the way; that’s not a GM or officer-specific thing) to see how many “pages” have sold in the last 24 hours. All guilds I’m in are less than their old average, even on weekends and even when maintaining the same good traders they do weekly (largely Alinor and Vivec for the ones I’m in).

It’s starting to feel like an overall trend rather than the usual cyclical ups and downs.

A lot of people left in Update 35. While some of the exodus was loud and vocal, I think the majority just quietly logged out one day and havent come back.

I saw in the stream "we welcomed another 2 million!" or something like that. I dont know what numbers Zos is seeing.... because all I see, everywhere, is less people. How many people have cleared HM end game in the last patch, compared to the "normal" years before? Less than a third. How active are quest places? How long are dungeon queues.

It is no surprise to me at all that the trickle down effect of people leaving means less sales.

I wonder if it is less ominous than an exodus of players and perhaps attributable to the fact that every chapter or DLC adds a new crop of traders.

People have more choices now and the starter zone monopolies just aren’t a thing anymore.

Too many events are easily giving too many items that are usually harderer to get. It's nice for newer players catching up,but not for guilds that have to pay for kiosks, cause lower sales means lower gold, and chance of no trader that week. The unlimited event boxes should only give certain items like blue or lower craft materials, blue or lower plans, gear, etc, and not motifs, purple furnishing plans, gold mats, etc. As less buy, there's less a gold sink, and gold becomes to abundant, seeing the trend of too much gold in circulation already.

Id bet on this playing a role.

There's enough space now that players can visit a bunch of locations to find their items.

I had 3 very nice gear hustles and two of them died but I just put that down to the sets not being popular anymore. The third ones still doing well.

Don't have any trouble selling motifs as long as I'm realistic about the prices. Was selling furniture as well as I ever had on Playststion before I quit the server a few months back.

Personally since u35 I have avoided gearing out toons. Just not motivated to do the content that requires proper builds- both pve and pvp.

More trade zones does not remove the appeal that current S tier zones have and will always have.
Proximity to crafting, undaunted, guild dailies, etc.
Mournhold will always draw the traffic. Gongalon traders should have no impact on stormhaven, elden root traffic. The best places are always the ones with most foot traffic.

Sales are clearly in a long term slide, the question is why, and everyone has a theory.

Thanks all...sadly I'm in that U35 boat as well...I've found I play far less now then before. Maybe ESO will recover and sales will go back up...maybe not.

I usually always found your discussions to be doomy and gloomy.

I hope you find the optimism for the game in the near future, as the majority of us have.

My items have been selling as quick as ever. Bedsides the usual crafting mats I've been selling recipes and patterns, motifs and style pages and a lot of furnishings that were just taking up space. Those do take longer to sell than the crafting mats but so far they have all sold.

it's not like the people paying out their ears for those traders are forcing their listers to list higher, it's the fact that anyone can browse them and get the items they need. some guilds are paying astronomical prices for guild trader spots and are using raffles and other money making strategies on top of dues/required sales to make it happen.

anyways, I still make money off selling weapons and goods from AvA mostly, sometimes obscure set items, style pages and motifs. I do pretty well for myself.

My sales have gone up, way up, in the last month or so. I only just got into the trading aspect of the game last year and my stuff would sit forever in the store, but like i said the last month or so things have been selling so quickly i have a hard time keeping my 30 slots filled for more than an hour.

If your items aren't selling then it's because of 1 or 2 things.

    1) Less people playing, less people buying things.

    2) Your prices are too damned high. This is why I don't bother with guild traders. I get curious of an item's price and go look at trader prices... [snip] That. [Snip]

I haven't had a major trade guild in a while, so really cant comment specifically, but I know for example I am personally in a holding pattern. Only thing I did this patch from an economy standpoint was try to fill up my opal pages from the event (ended up buying 4-5), and I made a gold set of Pillar of Nirn. I typically make 4-5 gold loadouts (10-14 pieces each) of gear each patch at a minimum. I am just not willing to spend resources with so much uncertainty. I think there is a lot of that going on.

I do need to find a trader, I am up to about 3 toons/mules bursting with motifs, style pages, and other shinys that need sold. lol.

I completely get that. I look at the TTC suggestion, take the lowest one and maybe add 4 gold to it to even it out (example: 7344 - 10444, I'd make that 7350 and call it good). So I don't think my pricing is too high.

Yes, I’ve noticed less sales across my five trading guilds since Update 35, and I always keep my slots full. And certain high value items I monitor on TTC have grown in the number of pages that are available, but not selling.

Lower sales, combined with declining guild rosters and little to no weekend queues for Cyrodiil leaves no doubt in my mind that there are a lot less active players since the drastic combat changes were first announced.
