tithe

once someone acquires the gold deck 7-cost card with tithe combo, it's basically game over, because you can never get ahead of the threat unless there's a tithe in the tavern. thoughts?

Yes, unfortunately Currency Exchange can have that effect on a number of games. And the player that get's Currency Exchange is probably more likely to get Tithe since Currency Exchange also churns the tavern.

Sometimes they won't be comboing and one can still not lose against their Patron victory, but the Patron victory becomes a huge threat.

This commemoration is for the class that has constantly been plundered and dismantled by designers for no obvious reason while other classes continue to have coherent skill lines and feel both powerful and cool.

I assure you currency exchange's winrate is far from 100%! (Also the card was recently nerfed on PTS).

The easiest ways to prevent a patron win are typically the Saint Pelin and the Psijics patron powers. If you can avoid putting down an agent they can never win via patron victory if blue is in the game, and getting multiple uses of the Saint Pelin power can be difficult to pull off.

There is also an orgnum contract action (the scroll) that functions the same as tithe but only costs 2 gold, so hopefully you can pick that up before the Currency Exchange player if its in your match.

That being said, Currency Exchange was the most powerful card in the game pre-nerf in my opinion.

thanks for the reply, Pink Apple. Agree re red and blue patrons... I've had games where I've avoided playing my agents to not give them that blue Patron they were looking for XD

Disagree, I've had players pick up 2x currency exchange and they still lose because they get over confident, use it to just spam patrons uselessly, or keep on buying cards from the tavern and never hitting combos. I would say its a nice bonus on your deck if you know how to utilize it and when.
