Cured vampirism, lost invested skill points

So I maxed out Vampirism and decided it wasn't for me, so I paid the 600g and got cured. In the process the skill points I invested in Vampirism went poof.

Is this a known issue and is there any way to get the skill points back?

I've heard people say that you get them back when you respec, but I counted my current skill points, 202, and when I went to the respec guy, the cost of respec was 20200, so respec'ing does not seem to restore them.

when you reset your skills you get them back. if you were to be bitten again those abilities would still be invested in vampire as well as the exp in each of them

I can confirm that is how it works. It worked for me.

So, the proper order would be first resetting skills and later curing vampiriSTD.

Well, that's a bit stupid if skillpoints remain locked if you don't have the skill line anymore.

I can confirm that is how it works. It worked for me.

So do I have to get bitten again and then respec or can I just respec and they will come back. I no longer see the vampire skill line in my skills.

Just simply pay for a respec and you'll get the skill points back that you invested into the Vampire skill line. You don't need to be bitten/infected again.

this. Sorry if my post was confusing. I was just trying to explain that they didn't get refunded as soon as you got cured because they are technically still "used"

Sorry for necroposting, but i just want to point something out. So if you get cured, and then get bitten again without respeccing you'll still have your vampirism line lvl 10 with all skills and passive you invested points in?

AFAIK, no, you start from Vamp lvl 1 again. And all your skill points are lost.

AFAIK, no, you start from Vamp lvl 1 again. And all your skill points are lost.

I know this is an old thread but FYI this is wrong information. I cured Vampirism just to get Werewolf and do the achievements on my same character (although I had the dye unlocked from another) and when I found bloodfiends and went through the quest again after talking to the NPCs (in Rawl'Kha then as you approach the Crypt), everything was still there all of my skills points, morphs, and max level. So anyone looking to cure it whether it be temporarily or not, your progress remains.
