I am not the character. I am at a keyboard, in front of a monitor enjoying the show.

Personally I like seeing my characters and it's better gameplay. 3rd person provides situational awareness around the arena. I suppose 1st person can be used if your familiar enough with the content.

If i'm right, I remember the 1st person pov was not implemented in game in Beta, and many players (a lot) asked for it. Zenimax implemented it then but after 8 years it's about 5% players of this poll playing it and like 25% playing it occasionally.

    No, gives me headaches.
its jarring Ive even messed with the FOV and still makes me kinda ill when I'm in first person if you play in 3rd person too long and try to go first person is bad and its strange I think its because the aspect is off and secondly why I don't play ESO in first person is there no peripheral vision so its impossible to see anything below and to the sides of you almost always resulting in a death

I also play on PC from time to time but I just wanna be left alone on there so sorry.

Very seldom, but I enjoy it when I do. For me, it's a deliberate session where I want to be immersed, and that helps dial-in that mood. I find that I can only truly enjoy it in open world sessions. I appreciate that it's there in the game, but I feel like the game's designed our third-person, so it's not something I can do in a wide array of content.

always playing first person view, even in scalecaller and frostvault. frostvault i hate because it imposes 3rd person when you come out of the skeevers and it messes me up. Yes it's harder to stay out of red circles but that's the challenge isn't it.

It's nice for looking at something up close, but it's just not possible for combat - especially PvP - so I don't use it. The game originally wasn't built for it and was probably put in for the Elder Scrolls questing more than anything.

1st person to do writs, and some cases in PvP with interactions (rezzing sometimes works better in 1st person) Its good sometimes to help see other players characters up close too. I converted from 1st majority to 3rd majority trying to beat Maelstrom the first time.

It is really weird to me that first person is such a minority here. I can't imagine 3rd as a primary pov.

    Huh.

When I first started back in 2015 I played first person as I was used to it from Skyrim. Played that way right up to when I cost my group the gold key for vFG2 by going into the protection dome thingy...
Now I only use first person if I want to look at something more closely, eg a furnishing , or if I'm placing furnishings.

Yes if questing, especially in new zones or if wanting extra immersion. For dungeons etc in general, no use 3rd person because need a better view.

Third person is cheating. Real gamers play first person especially in PvP.

Third person is not cheating. It allows you to actually see your character and what they are doing.

I don’t like the first person camera. I wish it was more like Skyrim/Halo/Doom with a custom first person view model whereas ESO has a camera floating over the third person model.

Only very rarely when something is tough to interact with in 3rd person... like those damn 3 columns in the Druid staff part of Isobel's quest :)
